    Not sure if this has been discussed, but maybe consider making Corsair’s Recoil Shot travel as far as a Night Lord’s. It would make it easier and smoother to reach the rope in Zak and also help with positioning in that sweet spot on the rope where you won’t get hit by unavoidable attacks. Maybe it should only apply when used in the air. I could see a lot of Corsairs using it to reposition at Zak during the pillar fights for the arms, or even at HT heads.

    I think a bigger problem with recoil shot is the fact it has an internal cooldown of nearly 2 seconds between uses. It also has a delay where your character can’t grab onto a rope after it’s used. If both of those two issues were adjusted RS would be in a much better place.

    Make it so Corsairs and MM can Freeze Golden and Silver monks again and also those fairies and other monsters if there are more monsters with immunity to freeze. The objective was to stop Shivering (maybe others) from freezing and farming two 5-6F channels and you achived that. This is many years ago now and I think its time to do some fixes, I don't think it should be too hard to adjust...

    you know, I was thinking about it, that there are different types of "freezing", i/l, paladin, mm, corsair, etc etc, they should have different treatment

    Just thinking for future content and end game content. Please allow more avoid on and off the ship. Even with the proposed damage mitigation etc sair still gets cooked. Lack of survival really hampers wanting to be recruited even though we’re supposed to be known for our damage.

    I know it was mentioned before but once again the beginning stages of battleship hp scaling are horrendous. It’s so unattractive in its current scaling that like others have mentioned, some just quit before lvl 180 which definitely sucks for longevity of the class.

    one thing to note. People keep mentioning or comparing us to nightlords as they’re the premier attack damage carry in later parts of the game* with SE and massive amounts of funding of course. Just looking at the older late game corsairs who have mostly re/rolled into NL/Shad. Why can’t we just buff avoid and scale it back if it is too overpowered? You’ll still have to manage your ship and the really great players will have an easier time to manage. The players with high ping don’t get punished too harshly. Players who are first timing Corsair also don’t get dissuaded from the class with a slight increase.

    The potential change to sticky keys is huge.

    I still have no idea about hypnotize because in a game like maple it just doesn’t make sense…

    They also did in maplestory eventually remove the hp to boat mechanic entirely (Not sure if it was post or late big bang), but then you did not have to worry about boat breaking.

    Big bang increased boat's movement speed and cannon from 4 to 5 hits. Chaos patch removed the boat's hp.

    Once again just commenting to keep this in rotation and because I’ve gathered more info. With the current pathway to bosses doing unavoidable attacks I still see adding avoid to corsairs as a much needed. I think the NL complain thread solidifies that with them getting their buff it’s going to inadvertently nerf us since they can’t handle a slight blemish in their status.

    once again all I’m asking for :

    buffed avoid formula change even if it’s +70 avoid overall ON AND OFF SHIP you’re trolling if it’s just off ship imho


    Some change to summons not so you have to keep them up 24/7 but so they’re definitely more worthwhile using (mostly gaviota since it’s really bad atm and octopi scaling is weird af)


    Boat HP scaling change currently it’s lackluster

    Decrease in delay for recoil shot

    MAYBE remove the drop rate nerf from bird genesis so corsairs can farm like we used to??

    My reasons for these requests is due to corsairs not really fulfilling the damage fantasy we’re supposed to apparently have all the time. Without much needed support (smoke,se,si) or a boss that doesn’t attack often we fall flat in the damage fantasy aspect. Even with these proposed buffs I do not think corsairs would become OP or broken due to not only their low popularity but the lack of afk playstyle many people love.

    Just a random idea that popped up. What if we removed boat hp entirely and make the boat last for x number of attacks, after x number of attacks it goes into cd. While this might have negative impact on highly skilled players because it closes gap with psi players, it is much more player friendly mechanic (for the psi players anyways). Therefore some sort of bonus should be placed for skilled players to continue incentivising mount/dismount sim.

    Idk if its better to encourage psi players to improve, in this case, punish them for facetanking everything, e.g if you take a certain amount of dmg while on boat before you do x number of attacks, you get sealed, or better to reward skilled players, e.g if player do not get sealed by taking certain amount of dmg and successfully do x number of attacks (therefore boat breaks), the cooldown is reduced for the next boat.

    But for actual numbers I have no idea how big of a difference is between skilled and psi players to maintain boat currently and content dependant.

    Feel free to explore further on this idea if yall have interest, disregard otherwise

    Overall I like the changes listed at the bottom of the initial post / page 4.

    Question about the proposed new Hypnotize, does the summon damage boost now replace the mob charming effect? New versions proposed as a debuff only? I assume the intent is that it works on bosses? Though personally I would prefer Hypnotize retain its mob charming effect and have it expanded to provide party utility. Have it work on all boss summons, give corsair a niche bit of utility that supports party survivability.

    Also on the topic of skills being usable in the air, could Rapid Fire be allowed to cast while in air / while using Wings?

    I would also like to bring up some small changes I proposed in the past Corsair Doomer thread:

    this could work if taking a hit off the boat recharged the number of attacks to encourage the similar boat hopping gameplay, but some problems could arise for low-hp sairs that can't tank boss body hit on command on afk bosses like krex, i suppose

    The 1 second delay mentioned here is also a lie. From testing, it's actually about 1.32 seconds.

    I guess by 1 second in between uses they meant starting from the end of a cast. Regardless, I think this delay could be reduced for better zoomies and lessened clunkiness (i.e. when you take damage during recoil) as has been suggested by others previously.

    Can time leap work on battleship like every other skill. It’s unfortunate having to literally break your boat for its CD to be time leapt. :) #Buffavoid

    That one second delay is the timeframe where you cannot grab a rope either if I’m not mistaken. Surely shortening the delay would make it possible to grab the rope sooner.

    Maybe the wings skill could have 2 modes: hold/tap
    hold: shoots player up vertically (helps with repositioning in bosses like HT)
    tap: works as it does now
