What MapleStory Memories Do You Have?

solo player, rejected countless guild invitation, and went poof'd in MapleSEA (guess I was focusing on LoL that time)

 

When GMS finally released after the beta.
I was a dumb little kid and couldn't find where to download, and ended up playing in MapleSEA for 20 levels.
Realized and had to do it all over again.

 

Getting my first ever 2nd job advancement on my 14th birthday. This was back in GMS beta too.

Anyone remembers "Drop Games" from way back in GMS?
Standing at the top left part of the Beauty Parlor map while the guy you're "playing" against would stand by the pillar on the right. It made no sense and I can't remember the rules, though I do remember I always had a friend behind that pillar waiting to steal whatever they drop lmao. One guy literally stalked us for days cause we took his lvl 50 cape

That and listening to Eminem while grinding at Ant Tunnel are my best memories haha

 

Found an Amethyst Ore on the Beginner Island at lvl 3 then got logged out, logged back in spam cc'd to find it and then found out it was pretty worthless at that level hahahaha.

 

i remember making my first character, and becoming a wizard i/l. i was so happy but i was so weak because i kept adding strength instead of int, l m a o

 

i was on the same boat lol. my friends were talking about maplestory at school (i think i was in 4th or 5th grade), and i went home to look for it. the next day i asked what server they were in and they told me bera. i said oh whats that i'm in bootes, which one is bera? is it the eagle emblem? lol

 

My first brush with MapleStory was more than 10 years ago, when I dropped by at a friend's place and he was playing MS. I remember looking through Hidden Street that night to see which classes I liked, and which equipment looked cool. Back then lvl 80 equipment were the best of the best, and for some reason I really, really liked Angelic Betrayal. As such, my first character was a melee Str thief, which I messed up because I had no idea which stats to add. (I still like Angelic Betrayal, and my crusader has one just for the fun of it.)

My second character was a cleric, which turned out to be so much better because I had finally read some guides online. Thanks to Magic Guard + Heal, I could walk into all sorts of dangerous maps to kill some powerful mobs, or just take a peek at the place. It was fun to explore new maps when they came out, in particular Singapore – my country – when it was released in MapleSEA.

 

Back when i was in my early 3rd job prior to big bang, i thought that Captain Latanica was as strong as a raid boss and needed at least a full party to defeat it.

 

I remember the old good days of BMS, it was in the year of 2003.
My world of dreams became a nightmare since my dad got a terrible sickness that year, my irl friends abandoned me for no reason, counting with the difilculty i have to make friends because i'm a very shy person this horrible path have put me into a forever alone state, with my family literally crashed by dad's sick. The foor fallen for me without my dad and friends!
Thanks to the Gods ive found a very good place to stay, the "place" was Maplestory.
Cause in Maple i: Got friends, Got a new family literally wih dad,mom, sis and bro!
A perfect world for me, with no pain or sickness
I still remember how i was sad because of the first xmas with my dad sick in the hospital, there was no xmas comemoration since it, all the happy moments have gonne, so i entered Maple and found a especial xmas event happening, i got so happy to celebrate even decorating a giant xmas three, a simple thing like dat made me love Maplestory more and more!
Maple have been my happy place since all dat bad things happened on yer life.

I got scammed by my MapleStory girlfriend.

 

My best friend had strict parents and often wasn't allowed to go outside and play, so she would sneak on Maplestory when she was supposed to be studying and we would hang out there. If not on Maplestory, I would hide in the bushes by her house and we would connect our Nintendo DS's and chat! I think my best Maplestory memories are with her. I haven't seen her in years because once she graduated high school and got a serious boyfriend, I just wasn't a priority or even worth a slight effort anymore. I'm sad now

 

I/L was my first character ever playing Maple when I was like 10. I didn’t know too much about stats or anything but I was a TriHard at grinding like I was here. Anyways, I come to find out that I was supposed to stop adding Luk and my base Luk was still equal to my level at 170. Needless to say I never lost any EXP when I died and sure as hell had no problem equipping the Elemental Staff 7.

I also gave someone my acc info to do zjq on my Marauder which was on the same acc and he did the ol’ take your stuff and change the info. RIP

 

lul i remember people selling track on OPQ and LPQ, i used to turn of my rounter for sec and then "smuggle the ticket" in some PQS,
i remember the thanks giving event that everyone was hunting Pig heads for somehting i dont remember. ahhh old times

 

My first language was Korean, so growing up in a Korean household, especially since I didn't learn English till maybe post-Beta release of GMS, navigating the MS website was quite difficult.

My brother and I shared an account and we used a sticky note on the monitor to keep track of our ID and PWs for emails and logins and whatnot.
One day, my dad or my step-mom cleaned that desk out and along with it, all of our manually kept ID, PWs, and PINs.

Me being the genius like 6-7 year old I was with knowing basically no English, I managed to reset our password for maple and Neckson sent a randomly generated password that looks something like "vfb7dgftxt823" (it's literally a random sequence of letters and numbers).
My brother and I didn't know we could change the password afterwards, so we just memorized that sequence. To this day, both of us still have it memorized, and we're both in our 20's.

Another thing, my dumbass traveled way too far at lvl2x to El Nath, and I was trapped there for like a week until some 3rd job player escorted me out and back to Ellinia. Thank you kind stranger, I will probably never meet you again but you really salvaged my maple experience there.

 

Omg me too, back in my early mapleSEA days (I was 10, ermagahd). After being trapped for days and days and days, some stranger walked past me and gave me an orbis rock scroll :')

 

Wow it’s shocking how far we’d just wander off in a game as kids, really goes to show why games with open worlds like Maple were so much fun back then.
