Wipe Characters Past 3-4+ Years

So I noticed that it is possible to track the ability to see "inactive" names that are currently available to IGN name change to.

My question and/or suggestion is: Why not just delete any characters past the 3+ or 4+ years mark?

It would immediately remove the huge amounts of lag and incredible chunkiness that the current IGN change system has, and would free up probably a lot of names in the long run.

I am not actually sure when a name becomes inactive long enough to become available for name change, but I assumed 1-2 years of inactivity would make them available (would love some clarity on what exactly qualifies them as inactive). After that, I would honestly assume that the person was not coming back anytime soon.

If this isn't done for one reason or another, I completely understand! Just throwing it out there.
