ZAKUM JUMP QUEST IS GARBAGE!!!!!

I think Ayumi has jump on spacebar which means you jump off the immediately get hit back onto the rope.

 

There's also timing your jump with the rocks. You want to count to a rhythm of "one, two, three, rock" and when you say rock, the rock should appear and drop. If you can count that sequence out, you Jump on "rock" and then climb to the top of the rope. The rock will not hit you if you are at the very top. Then time your next jump going forward and so on. It's much easier for noobs.

I just had an idea to rescue plunging zak helm prices. From now on, every zak run requires Lava Elixir which involves redoing the JQ for each elixir.

One thing to add that no one else has touched on is that having a crappy keyboard makes jump quests a lot harder in general. If your keyboard has an inconsistent input delay, that's going to make the zakum JQ borderline impossible

No idea what keyboard you actually have, and it could easily be that you just need to get a new brain that isn't made of mashed potato, but wanted to mention it just in case

I also have a crappy keyboard too, but I'm able to do it just fine.

 

My wife who is first time ever on maple did the jump quest no problem and give or take 17 hours

Bruv, it takes literally 15 minutes. 20 tops. Just watch the next section infront of you, and visualize you moving through it. That's it

I love and hate jump quests; I used to do them years ago when ores were actually worth keeping, but get really frustrated whenever I fall.

So much so that this Zak JQ is literally the only reason I played a class that didn't require washing (I was relatively fine with actual washing).
It wasn't that this JQ wasn't fun for me -- it actually is. But falling is doubly frustrating because:
- there is only 1 checkpoint (between part 1 and 2)
- you don't fall to a lower section, you fall "all the way" because it's a horizontal JQ (as opposed to the more common vertical JQs) (fun fact: I hate the Ludi JQ for this same exact reason)
- you're punished with a lot of damage when you fall
That said, I did attempt it on alt characters.

Take your time with it. Every time I fall when I'm near a "checkpoint" and get super mad, I stop for a few minutes.
Go get a drink, check your shop on another client, check some posts on forum/Discord, do something else.
It took me an hour total to complete, with only half that time being actual jumping.
There's a reason there's no time limit.
