So I've never had an issue opening the client. I even played about 12 hours ago. When I came to open it tonight, I get this error:

I tried to reinstall the client, but at the end I get this error:

I am on a pretty much stock windows 10 laptop, no additional antivirus or anything like that.

Also happening to me, only way I can play the game is if I turn off Windows Defender because it keeps deleting all Legend files except the .exe. Started as soon as I booted up my PC this morning.

My desktop icon disappeared, is that because the files were deleted? (Sorry not too tech savvy)

I'm not sure for the cause myself, but the solution I found, which isn't a good one at that, is to turn off Windows Defender, then reinstall Legends through the .exe file. Turning back on my Windows Defender will automatically delete it because it's detecting malware which I believe to be a false positive.

Ya I don't know what is causing it or how to fix it myself. Maybe wait for a more efficient response xD

You don't need to reinstall every time this happens. If you go to Windows Defender and click on the History tab it will give you a list of items it has quarantined, tick the box next to the items it removed from the MapleLegends folder and click Restore.

I am unsure why Windows Defender kills the client for you, since I use Defender home on a Windows 10 laptop and everything works fine. However, like the above posters say, put it as exception.

Anyway, here are scan results to show once more our files are clean: Click

Just did another scan and not detected. However, because Defender is so awful I still suggest put the whole Legends folder as exception, because it makes the client run about 3 times faster.

Here's a tutorial then. Please excuse the Dutch language of Windows Defender that I cannot change. This is on Windows 10.

    1) Click settings

    2) Scroll down to last option until you see version information

    3) Select "Folder exception"

    4) Navigate to MapleLegends folder and click it once and click "Allow folder"

    5) You should now see following:

    Should be it!

Jokes aside, thank you very much Kim! That's some really speedy service! Hopefully this will fix my issues permanently! :D
