50 users was a myth in summer 2016

 

Biggest noticeable difference for me has been overall stability of the server. I don't know how many times I'd waste hours waiting to get rewarped into Horntail or Zakum over at Royals because the server decided to crash.. again. Towards the end of my time with royals it was just constant annoyance with the buggyness and instability of the server till the point where I kinda just got fed up with maple altogether and decided to play something else for a while.

I didn't really consider legends a viable alternative for me as the player numbers were so much lower (much less than right now), so I never really paid attention to the server. Just joined by happenstance recently cause my graphics card died and I needed something to play until I got it replaced. From what I heard royals had gone down in flames with new source so I thought I'd check other servers out. So far it feels this server ticks most of the boxes out of what i want out of a pre-bb server and the lower rates doesn't really bother me, as the level ups feel more like an accomplishment.

They actually have more now, people have been coming back. But still, legends has plenty of players and it's player/channel ratio is actually higher than what royals had before it's flop in early January.
