Donor Item: Fusion Anvil

This would be a very powerful update for warriors because currently, using the Stonetooth sword gives you a -50% DPS modifier because you either kill yourself or go completely insane because you have to look at the ugliest assortment of pixels capable of being assembled, so being able to have an ST's stats with a Devil Sunrise's appearance would actually be very gamebreaking pls vote non.

 

As a suggestion, it'll be good to include a poll.

 

This is a hell yes from me lol....didn't even know this existed till i googled it just now. So many good weapon/equipment appearances on lower lvled stuff, but yeah put up a poll for ppl to vote on

I do like this idea. It's usually the main reason I play MMOs aha. though only if it's purely cosmetic.

 

You will get an 80 20 if the anvil is account locked.

Or 90 10.

 

Was never really a big fan of that system. I'd rather have what you see is exactly what that item is. Keep in mind it also allows for new possibilities like keeping the appearance of temporary event equips, allows lower levels to wear the appearance of higher level gear, allows classes to wear the appearance of equips out-of-class (like an elemental wand on a common-job beginner wand). It feels novel for a little bit but gets old fast.

 

I see the main problem being expiring items anvilled to non expiring ones.

Also note that these anvils were released at a much later time than v62.

 

Anvils naturally come with limitations. In other servers, at least, you can't anvil temporary items.

Also, there are crap tons of cosmetics in ML that were released years and years after BB.

 

That's an issue that should be avoided. Temp items should not be able to be anviled.

 

Cosmetics are easy to add because as long as you have all the files for every corresponding character movement they can be added.

(Dont quote me on the below as i am not 100% sure, as i do not do coding).

Functions such as anvils is probably harder to add (to possibly impossible). As the function is for strictly higher versions of maple. Such as how v62 doesn't have the maker skill.

 

Oh, I thought you meant it like it wouldn't fit the server because we are pre big bang and stuff. It would be considered custom per se.

Well, I think Owls are not a v62 thing. They are quite new, in fact (need confirmation on this). Kimberly would have to say.

 

The ability to change the look of items would be cool.
If it's in the shape of anvile or something else doesn't matter to me.

 

This was always one of my favorite things they added to GMS. In general I've always liked the in-game clothes more than the nx alternatives, even when I first played a decade ago. I remember I spent hours and hours trying to get Canopus gear when that first came out simply because I liked the look. I also wore a white shirt and ice jeans to level 50 or higher on every character! There are a lot of great looking weapons and armor pieces early in the game that unfortunately are too weak to scroll to usable stats later on. For people like me, the anvil helps a lot with creating the characters we set out to make, which is the goal in an MMO, right?

I don't really think it damages the game in any way, but then again I'm no .62 purist. If I recall correctly, it was pretty obvious which items people anviled and which were normal. I'd be more concerned about how possible it is to implement.

Edit: I'd also say that even now it is difficult to tell what class or level a character is without clicking on them due to the prevalence of NX items, so I don't think in that regard the anvil is creating a new problem.

 

With the recent client changes, I'm wondering if this is something that may be possible in the future! Bumping for visibility since it's been a while this was talked about.

 

If this is the only way to get more shield skins ill hecking take it.
