The game is full of this kind of weirdness, I love it. But hey, want the easiest way to prove these guys were on crack while working on some parts of the game?

 

This is more RPG logic rather than specifically Neckson logic, but hundreds of thousands of Dark and Green Cornians have been slain in ML history to get Busted Daggers and Cornian's Marrows for Dragon Elixirs to get passed Keroben, the gatekeeper to Horntail's cave.



Why couldn't we just kill this guy to get into the cave ourselves.

 

Heart wand and heart staff are two different lv54 weapons (looks identical) in the game but both are wands i.e. you need a wand scroll to upgrade them.

 

Don't even get me started on the lack of element weakness for most mobs/bosses. It's like they completely forgot about white knights or Paladins for 80% of the game.

 

The Security Camera boss in Magatia is considered an undead, for some reason beyond me.

Dark mobs are weak to Holy damage, but Dark Wyverns are only neutral (though this is probably fair: can't make HT too easy).

 

Can we rename this series of equipments (COLOR)+THIEF+(SLOT)

So this would be Red THIEF Top, because pirates clearly can't equip it

 

It was created before the pirate class I guess?

Not only must Keroben be daft as a brush, not to spot the patterns of hordes of cornians entering the cave, and his boss getting subsequently brutally murdered, but it also seems like Keroben is the real final boss, able to send people flying with minimal effort - people who can easily slay Horntail.

YES! I've actually thought that there's some additional maple lore where Keroben is actually the strongest person in the world and he's just sending people to fight his weak 3 headed dragon because he doesn't want to deal with everyone trying to kill him

You drop one job-specific clothing. You can at least drop the matching top! Celestalia had to go over a month with her default shirt mostly because of this.

No, instead, the only enemy that drops the Green Avelin is...Evil Eye. I'm not joking.

Actually a fair amount of Victoria Island drop tables are...eccentric in some way or another. Green Mushroom, Horny Mushroom, and Stirge spring to mind. Would I have it any other way? Absolutely not.
