Skills not expiring

This happens to me when I use bahamut. It causes magic attack potion and bahamut to flash indefinitely or until I use a new potion or recast bahamut.

It's a known v62 bug where at certain times, your buffs will not expire. I don't know what causes it but I've had it before.


It's also easily abused with Shadowers (hehehehehehehehehehehe)

 

Yes it is. On another server (v62) I played before, it was actually bannable to abuse this, since a select few managed to manually glitch it. A Shadower on said server killed BFs in under a minute by glitching it with Dark Sight+Heartstopper and spamming fully charged Assassinate, which hit 400-600k damage each time. It's considered glitch abuse, so probably bannable here as well?

 

I think it happends when ur buffs are close to expiring, and then you enter fm, for some reason they only seems to stay for me this way...

 

This is how old buff mechanism works:
When the buff finish, the client sends a packet to the server informing that the buff has ended. The reason this works is that the timer in older version of maple was in the client side, not the server. It happens when the client wants to end the buff and not receiving the "End Buff" packet from the server.

Basically worked like this in old maple:
1. Player use skill to get the buff
2. Server sends to the client that you received the buff
3. When the buff is about to finish the client sends to the server that the buff is finished
4. Server respond with a packet that removes the buff

So basically, if u can block the client from sending the "End Buff" packet, this happens, the buff will stay forever.

How new maple fixed this?
Simply by making the server do all the steps, the client doesn't send the "End Buff" packet anymore, the buff timer is on the server side.

Like this:
1. Client sends only 1 packet, and that is the starting of the buff
2. Server will end the buff automatically when it's the time to end.

Pray for Navi Gi phnx to make the server handle buff timer.

It's happened to me that only se got glitched, but my other buffs were working perfectly, problem is I can't detect if it is because only se was bugged or because i rebuffed the other ones
