So what's a "wipe"?

A wipe means 'wiping the slate clean'. Removing all progress from all players in one go. Allowing everyone to start over with a clean slate and the lvling competition can start again.

However, recently, there was a suggestion to add a world to the private server. Which works just how world worked in the origional maplestory. A separate world where people can start anew, lvl characters and get equips. Without the removal of all the progress that has already happened in the current 'world'.

 

Do we have an idea which direction is the #hype going to land on?

Offtopic, but still related:
The hype is kinda not funny guys, promoting 'as a joke' that the server is going to get a wipe is eventually bringing less players to the server.
As some people think their progress will be lost within a small timeframe, which is nonsense. But it is a reason to choose another server.

So please guys stop the hypetrain and attract people by saying what an accomplishments that there are allready 2 level 200s at this very moment.

Just want to point out that a wipe is going to be extremely unlikely. Even a new world most likely isn't going to happen, unless some significant experimental changes are made to that world first. But I'm not saying the staff here are receptive to the idea of an experimental world either.

 

It's not a waste when you enjoy the time you spent.

Wow! Now that's definitely what I'd call max power!

 

I enjoyed the first time I played to my current level. Asking me to repeat that process again so I can continue to enjoy my progress from that point on isn't my idea of fun.

 

Little do you know I've accomplished more than you have, Cal. There are only a few people more qualified than I to tell you what this server is. And although I have more than my fair share of dislikes on this server, I will repeat that for you again.
It's not a waste when you enjoy the time you spent.

If you aren't enjoying it, you are truly wasting your time. If you consider this, it's best you find something else worth your time. As far as I can see it, you haven't gone far enough to even complain about a reset.
