Accepted & Implemented Allow using Assassinate's 5th hit midair

    For as relatively small the gains are dashing over standing nates (2.5/11% dummy without/with SE assuming a wide enemy you don't need to about face after dashing to continue hitting), reliably getting the dashes off can be surprisingly difficult. If you take damage and are knocked slightly off the ground for a few frames at the same time you try to dash your nate, you will instead just walk, costing dpm. This may sound like an unlikely or infrequent alignment but it's quite the opposite, and I often even get several consecutive interrupted dashes. If there is insufficient smoke or a high enough acc boss, this will in many cases lead to a net loss in dpm vs the less active gameplay of standing spam. I propose that the foothold requirement for the dash be removed so that the more active gameplay has better odds of netting greater dpm.

    There are also implications for situations like attacking from right head platform, getting a left kb from magic as your nate ends, and dashing back onto rh plat from midair, which I feel is a worthwhile and rewarding upgrade for concentrated players.

    I should clarify that I mean for there to still require a place to dash *to*, not just from midair to midair.

    Good suggestion. Getting hit between Nate and Dash, especially charged, is very unsatisfying besides it being less dpm :(

    Yes. This would further add to the mobility options of nate-dashing into assaulter. Making the “nimble-ness” of the melee thief class even more apparent.

    Allowing for targetless assaulter and allowing for dash multiple times in air would make shadower the coolest class.

    edit: this was a meme response but it'd actually make shads highly viable in HT where many hosts prefer a heads focus vs cleaving arms+wings

    I honestly think shadower has been significantly buffed to the point where it plays more or less exactly how it should. The only issue I currently have with the class are those recent avoidability changes. We don’t need all these suggested damage boosts, our damage is now good enough to be welcomed into boss runs and all that. But the thing is, we’re not supposed to be a DPS class, we’re supposed to be some sort of weird all-rounder with both damage and utility, so I think that our focus right now should be on improving the utility. Smokescreen should probably be changed back to function more closely as it did originally, and if we think that shifted was a little too OP before, then maybe keep it as is, but also give a 10% passive avoid proc.

    my only issue with the idea of raising damage over and over again is that we’ll end up with the same bloated mess that gms turned into, they one day decided that every class needed all the same tools at their disposal and it just made the game dull and lifeless. The classes should all have their own faults so that it encourages social play, that’s the whole reason the game was fun.

    Idk why people are still agreeing this should be implemented because it already was this patch even though my post wasn't marked as such. Staff honestly took it too far making the first four hits usable midair too imo. This is a heavy attack and removing the entire foothold requirement is just thematically inconsistent. We already had midair bstep for that purpose.
