This is a pretty good gear guide. It is not updated for neo tokyo/ timeless weapons but most players don't use those anyway because they are too pricey.

For Weapon, I can't recommend Nisrock enough. The low STR requirement combined with possible Avoid with White Nisrocks make it a fantastic beginner weapon that scales incredibly well into endgame. Do not force upgrades into higher level bows until you're replacing a 125+ Nisrock, just stick to Nisrocks. They're cheap and reliable.

For Overalls, scroll for Dex. Don't get tricked into scrolling for STR and minimizing your base STR - despite what people believe it does not help you optimize with MW20 or increase your overall stat total. Dex is far cheaper than STR. Always prioritize what's cost efficient.

 

Any combination of relevant stats, so in this case dex and str. You do not care about int or Luk. For example, a 50 stat helm in this case could be 17 STR and 33 DEX.

 

Second what beegoratto said. Fairly good baseline for goals. Only thing I disagree on is the bow but to be fair nisrocks are cheaper, although its easier to get higher attack with timeless or reverse, but at that point you'll know what route you want to take whether thats a dsb/nt/timeless etc. 120 Nis is a very reasonable mid game bow that can be had for around 200-250 last I remember.
