    Hi,

I was on vacation using the wifi at the place were I was staying while playing on my laptop (windows 11). No issues.

Come home, using my home wifi and the same laptop and now i'm having the client close on me after 5-10 minutes of playing. I've reset my wireless driver, and restarted my laptop and router. Doesn't solve the issues. I've excluded the MapleLegends from Windows Defender and disabled the firewall.

I went into the Logs from the last time the client closed, and this is what it said at the time it closed.

I just find it weird that I played for a solid week while on vacation without a single problem. Played for hours at a time.

When I came home to my own internet (which is better) I start having issues.

This is a memory issue, specifically an access violation code which indicates bad memory sectors/allocation, with some hints of network handling code errors (per ws2_32.dll). While technically most of the steps to be taken to address this would be from a developer's perspective, such as analyzing the call stack or verifying the network handling code, there are still a few things you can do to address this.

First of all, I'd make sure your memory usage isn't spiking above 95% in Task Manager when attempting to run the game. If your laptop has crashed at all recently with a BSOD, did the error message indicate anything to do with memory? If so your RAM most likely has bad sectors and I'd look at getting either a warranty replacement, or if it's feasible try replacing the SODIMM memory sticks with aftermarket ones.

If you do want to investigate your wi-fi, you can but it's more likely than not going to be a red herring. I would test different wi-fi bands (2.4GHz vs 5GHz), adjust the wi-fi channel to get a better signal (https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wifi_information_view.html), update your router firmware, etc. You can also try using a different wi-fi device instead of your laptop's built in NIC, such as a USB wi-fi adapter.

Also of course try removing the game entirely, re-install it, and try running it as an administrator to test, sometimes that just straight up fixes crashes for me -- update your Windows, try running ML in compatibility mode.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!

It's a brand new laptop with 64gb of memory provided by the aftermarket seller, so I will definitely investigate that. Though I haven't had any other issues with anything else. Always good to check though.

I attempted to use wireshark to help investigate, but it actually seemed like it crashed even faster with wireshark running. Though, I'm not a network guy so that information isn't useful to me as I don't know how to interpret it other than look for the red lines. I've tried 2.4GHz vs 5GHz and had the same results. Router is updated to the latest firmware and i've reinstalled the the wireless driver on the laptop.

I've also tried the reinstall, and compatibility mode as well as running as administrator.

I will try to adjust the wi-fi channel with the link you provided for my next steps, and I was actually going to try and put a VM with windows XP on my laptop just for the sake of trying.

I'm thinking it has to do with the wifi, just because it was working fine on a different network, and it's not on my home network.

Thank you again for the suggestions. Definitely has given me some more to work with!
