Windows 8/8.1/10 DC'ing frequently and randomly

Hello.

I've been playing maplelegends for about 4-5 months, typically had no problems with dc'ing at all. Been able to do full horntail runs and play for long periods of time without dc'ing. However, 2 days ago, I started to DC frequently, sometimes 5 times within an hour. Some scenarios where I have dc'ed include: using genesis at red slimes, grinding at sophilia's bedroom as a BM, Krex, sitting in FM doing nothing, sitting at CWK, sitting in amoria. Of note, there are some periods of time where I am able to play for extended periods of time. For instance, I have been able to play a full 2 runs of CWK without dc'ing. I also have been able to do 1 full krex run. However, outside of these runs, I have been dc'ing very frequently.

My DC's are all the same. My client or clients go black and exit themselves. No error messages. I am using 800x600 clients and occasionally 1024x768 clients. All of them crash at the same time.

Technical details: Playing on Windows 10 on a PC desktop. Using an ethernet connection.

Things I have tried: restarting my client, turning off my PC, re-installing maplelegends, turning graphics all the way low, trying compatibility mode (Windows 7, Vista, and 98)

Things I heard may help but have not yet tried: VPN

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
