Dunas 2 Hopium Journal

Hello, I will be documenting my expeditions of the beloved boss, Dunas 2. Although I have a log of my previous runs, I will start fresh as to not taint and bias expectations of this boss' unbounded expected value (EV).

However, I will share my most recent loot to set the baseline and tone of coming runs.

Here are some dpm numbers:
For the spaceship, I did dpm5 on both chars. It takes about a min or 2 for my bishop to get aggro of the invul boss and then to move my chars over to the round platform on the right side. Spaceship went down at around 9-10min in. Pally is on lightning charge. Both on cider/choco cakes.

Main body dpm10 on strawberry cakes (30 atk). Might be better for my bucc to stick to cider cuz he will steal aggro from my pally when defense-up buff is down. Had a couple unlucky dispels. Pally on holy charge.

 

Run #3

This time during main body, I used the 40 atk cream cakes on my pally and stuck with ciders on my bucc. It seems like the more d2 gets the knockback/flinch animation, the less likely it spams the dispel lightning attack. Idk, maybe it was RNG not sure yet. In any case, got a new run-time record but also a record for the worst drops:

Run #4

As expected...sorry for the huge image. Not sure how to re-size here and was too lazy to re-size in powerpoint where I made it.

I was curious how much exp my pally was getting from this so I did a epm30 before the space ship went down to capture both exp from space ship and main body:

FYI that's with the bonus event exp of 10% (I think?). No bueno.

I also forgot I never really specified the goals of this journal. Tbh I'm not sure. It's mostly informative for the NT community. Maybe I'll just keep this journal going until I get a 57/9 claw drop or Dunas2 gets buffed. Whichever comes first.

Finally something nice. Suddenly had the urge to shit about 15min in though. Made the call to be strong and wait it out. Glad of my decision.

Pretty uneventful. This run was full-cider since I wanna save my higher atk pots for ore blaze.

Ok so I did actually make a rudimentary spreadsheet. Here is the EV so far:

The near-perf 2h sword, which I sold for 110m, is hard carrying the EV. I did not include any ores cuz it would be truly cope to include that. I separated coins from the EV since I never sell them. Now for fun, let's see the EV without the 2h sword:

I draw aggro of the invulnerable boss using my bishop and then place him on the rope on the upper platform. I was told this was ok to do by a GM.
