It should work exactly the same as wands. The wands work. They buff the appropriate element, and they do not affect holy damage.

 

This would be fairly easy to test for someone who has a high lvl mage.

 

No penalty and no damage increase. To also piggyback on what Drew has said, I've seen a LOT of bishops unnecessarily holding wands 5 and 7. I understand 5 and 6 has the int but why they all gotta go for the wands the other classes need? Use a 6 or 8. More nails in the coffins T-T

 

That's a great news for me! Now i don't have to sell my elemental wand 2

 

I doubt Bishops are thinking to themselves "Hmm, I wonder which wand will benefit I/L's or F/P's the most - I'll buy that one just to spite them!".

They just purchase the best wand they can afford / is available, without thinking twice about the type.
