Windows 8/8.1/10 "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"

    I have recently purchased a new computer and downloaded the MapleLegends client. Everything downloads perfectly fine but once i launch the client i get an error saying "Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D." I went online and read a few ways to fix it. (There is no setup.exe file under my legends file. I have tried changing the compatibility with different windows operating systems. And also have downloaded the newest DirectX.)

    Not to sure what else to do, could really use some advice or help to fix this.
