Windows 8/8.1/10 Game Runs at Very Low FPS on Laptop

    ML runs slow enough to be deemed unplayable on a laptop I share with my roommate. I have read a few posts on the forum about reverting drivers to an older version, specifically to try 30.0.101.1994 or 30.0.101.1340. Said posts warn to check if the drivers are compatible with my device, but I do not have the know-how to do so.

    For reference, this laptop has two display adapters: 1) Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 running driver version 31.0.101.2111, and 2) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 running driver version 32.0.15.6094. The processor is a 8-core Intel i7-7700HQ @ 2.80GHz.

    I would appreciate advice on how to check compatibility for older drivers before I take any action, thank you very much in advance!

    You can check which GPU your gaming is running on, in Task Manager.
    For Intel iGPU, you can try update the driver to the latest version.

    EDIT: I've never experienced laggy frames (Iris Plus Graphics on 31.0.101.2125)
    But upgrading intel driver once solved a laggy frames problem for a friend of mine.

    Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 is old enough, it should work with 30.0.101.1994 or 30.0.101.1340.
    And the installer will very likely detect the hardware and check compatibility for you.

    I've tried to install both 30.0.101.1994 and 30.0.101.1340 to no avail. They refuse to install onto the system. I guess this laptop just won't be able to run ML. Oh well.

    Did you download the correct version (x86/x64)?
    You may also try uninstall the current driver before downgrade.
