The recent changes to allow warrior cleave classes such as heroes and DK's to effectively cleave both left head (lh) and mid head (mh) if standing left or mh and right head (rh) if standing right was a great turning point for those two classes and has definitely resulted in their utility and usefulness on runs increasing. However this has come as a detriment to Paladins which have gone from barely being able to compete with other single target classes to being borderline unviable in HT now.

    Pre-patch
Prior to the patch the Paladin's home was at the top left block in horntail where they would stay there for the majority of the fight to poke at that mh (see pic below)
    upload_2021-2-24_9-52-8.png
At this position, the paladin was able to hit the mh without ever touching the lh unless the lh raised its head to attack/summon wyverns. What this meant was even if the lh cancelled, the paladin was still able to hit the mh without any downtime. The only downtime for the paladin would therefore only occur when the mh would weapon cancel and the paladin moves one platform down to poke the left head. At the lower platform, whenever the left head ducks the paladin would have to wait a few seconds before it rises to continue attacking.

    Post-patch
In order to make heroes and DK's cleave the lh and mh simultaneously, the hitbox on the lh was raised. What this implies for the paladin is that all blast hits now hit the lh instead of mh. Unfortunately what this means is that if the lh weapon cancelled, the paladin has to jump up one platform to the top in order to hit the mh. However unlike before, the paladin now suffers loss of dmg and downtime as they aren't able to hit the mh anymore when the head ducks (in contrast to before patch where regardless of what the mh does the paladin was able to hit).

When the mh cancels and the lh is up, the paladin does the same as pre-patch and goes down one platform. However what this now implies is that when either one of the head cancels (of which it does frequently in HT), there is now downtime for the paladin for which no other class (ranged or cleave) has to deal with to such a degree.

But why not just cleave with our lovely cleave skill ACB? ACB has an incredibly poor hitbox and unfortunately the hitbox on the left head wasn't raised high enough for ACB to actually proc properly. With a downward swing or stab animation, ACB will not actually trigger. ACB only works when you swing your sword upwards to hit the lh then the mh. And regardless even if it did work, Paladins have incredibly subpar cleave compared to heroes/dk's so asking a paladin to switch to purely acb when you could have a hero spam brandish instead means there's no reason to bring a paladin into HT at that point.

    Edit:

    Conclusion and thoughts
The recent buffs were a right step in making heroes and dk's more inclusive in HT but it should've been done in such a way that didn't massively affect the performance of another class in HT. In order to allow cleave to cleave heads, the hitbox on the lh was raised and mh widened. I propose if the hitbox on the mh was also increase vertically such that if the mh ducked the paladin would still be able to blast mh, it would retain the same performance of the paladin prior to the patch while also continuing to allow cleave to cleave the heads as per what the recent patch is intending.
