    LNY events are here, and this year we needed a custom NPC for the LNY shop.

    When the designers got info that we had to make one, SerinSerin made one very quick

    tbh this would've worked and we all would've been ok with that

    But for real we started on it a few mins after. Serin did a quick draft which I then took over and turned into Pixel Art form snake.png


    Here is how it looks after some size adjustments and tweaks

    Neckismug in it's glory. I also changed the colors of his robe for more HUAT energy, and a Mandarin orange. I also gave Yin She a little smile on his mouth area.

    After handing it over to PastaPasta, he fine tuned him even further, giving more details and shadows, and a more fluid body curve.

    Finally, Serin did a thirst trap artwork of Yin She

    The final version does not have the neckismug. And for the reason of the name, Yin She directly translates to 'Silver Snake' in Chinese. It represents prosperity and wealth, and I hope you all will experience that during this event. Happy Chinese New Year!

    On Discord we've just teased an upcoming feature. Not sure when but in the upcoming future there will be a way to check for boss clear counts for the day/week.

    The first prototype interface actually looked like this. You might be able to tell that some icons are used from either the HP bar icon, or disguised as something else. This first one did not look as polished so I was assigned to make some nice looking icons for all the bosses. I did not think about how many bosses there were to do till i had to do it. Oh gad.

    The hardest ones will be the big mobs, Berga, Nibelung, Zakum etc, so I started with what i thought would be the easier ones. Downscaling the sprites and giving some detail back.

    As I gave myself a 40x40 size limit, Some of them lost features which i did my best to draw back.

    After awhile, I worked on the other bosses like Latanica, Dunas, etc. icon draft 2.png


    And here's all of them! Besides the bosses, NTPQ and CWKPQ is also included.

    Are you able to notice some shortcuts i took?
    For Krexel, it's actually a Duku that i downscaled and removed the Rafflesia flower on his forehead, so it could fit in the square box. Dunas 2 is basically the same as Dunas, I just added the blue orb around him, and Core Blaze's is from my chair sprite, that I downsized.

    Once I was done with the sprites, I handed it off to PastaPasta to implement and this is how it looks in the UI icon draft 5.png

    After some re-arranging, they are now side by side in rows of 2. icon draft 6.png

    It's been a few months. I play more casually now, a little stuff on my Paladin, occasional training runs for new Auf Haven runners, and play my brawler and doing some grinds only when there's GM Buffs.

    I'd head to MP3 or GS2, and find someone else grinding there, and just train for an hour. Here's where i'm at now

    I'm level 67 as of this post, and also got some upgrades.

    This knuckle passed two 30%s, and four 60s. I'll use this till I can use a Speargrave

    Which is this, a Knuckle I got from Core Blaze, tossed scrolls on it and it somehow didn't blow.

    I also bought a Timeless Faraon for cheap, and scrolled it. It passed two 30s, and four 60s.

    I trained longer than usual today and got Rort to level 70 today. I decided to try grinding at CDs at a very low level of 67, and yes I did take awhile to kill them, Somersault kick was pretty good at killing them. CDs also have a second form where they split into three mobs, so mobbing these are nice.

    After I reached 70, I brought an apple did my 3rd job. Kyrin's clone summons some replicas so i used pinning skills to bring her to the corner and somersault kicked her to death.

    Here's my HP and MP now. I plan to double MP wash till... I don't have a set time/level to do it yet. Maybe level 120+ or so, and then i'll bring my base INT back to STR, and then bloodwash from that level onwards.

    I also scrolled my zakum helmet with INT recently, it somehow passed 9 out of 10 scrolls.

    What's next is to probably solo grind at CDs till about level 100

    Some of you have read the balance thread and saw that there's new debuff icons.

    Since the beginning of the game, debuff icons always blink back and forth, which can be disorienting to newbies, and of course, accidental death to damage reflects as it blinks away, thinking its over. Hence in bosses like Auf Haven i generally discourage users from using Blind, Threaten etc on bosses that do damage reflect.

    So that means we'll need custom icons for each respective debuff as it is tiny, so I got to work.

    The Padlock is an existing debuff icon, i used that as size reference for the rest of them.

    I imported a few known icons and downsized it, to see if i can retain most of its semblance.
    I tried to make a tiny version of the Bullseye bird, but it looked a bit funny, and his head to body proportions felt weird so I came up with something else

    Also tried making the head smaller to have the flag.

    Next were the Blind and Hamstring icons, I know Hamstring doesn't have a debuff icon, we just visually see if a mob is moving slow or not. As for blind, I took the class's buff icon and see if i could get something to work

    It looked goofy, and I ended up not going with the blind buff's shape.

    After some thinking, using the swirl of the buff, and recolored it to match with the rest of the debuff icons (which are blue with a glow around it), i ended up with this.

    Shortly after I worked with Threaten.

    The eye was supposed to be the Hamstring icon, but after some thought, since Hamstring works as a 'Slow', we could just do a snail icon, and have that be both Hamstring, and the Mage's Slow.

    I made the snail icon next, and then a Skull icon, basing some references to existing assets.

    Here's how they will look beside other icons. Orange are the monster's buffs to themselves, and the icons in blue are the debuffs that the players apply to the mobs, for easier differentiating.
