Preface:

I started playing on maplelegends in late Sept/Oct 2024, right at the tail end of the Anniversary event, with a few friends from a previous game we all played.

Main ways currently of making meso consist of leeching and GAMBLING

I LOVE SCROLLING

Nothing in Maple gets the heart pumping as much as scrolling does for me.

When its all or nothing, down to your last meso, and all that stands between despair and greatness, is a single 30% scroll.

So I will be up front and say this is mainly a way to archive my degenerate scrolling habits.

GOALS:

• Become Rich
• Level up & gear 4 Bishops for multimaging
• Wash & Gear NL and Paladin for bossing
• Scroll 5/5, 7/7, 10/10 perfect items
  
• Never leech a day again in my life
• Only use self made gear

I don't really have any current goals when it comes to scrolling, my attacking characters are still far away from having enough nx to being playable, so I just look for the cheapest thing Production Cost/Expected Value wise and go to town. I believe scrolling to be a numbers game, so I usually buy 3/4 clean equips and then 30 them all, going step by step. I lean towards accessories like earrings and gloves, as the limited amount of slots lowers the need to finish items with 60/70s (my luck historically has been terrible with them). Normally I'll aim to produce at least 1 +3 item, buying more clean equips as i see necessary, usually aiming for 3 equips to scroll per round.

Entry #1

After selling a few items I made prior, I had about 200m~ to play with without going below 1b, so I decided to scroll a bit.

1 item made was the 22 TMA Red marker above, and the other was a 13 int White Raccoon Mask

This session was a bit sus, as a good majority of the scrolls at the start failed. At the end it's only by a sheer act of some higher power that I even end up profiting from this scrolling session.

Entry #2

Well i did one last scrolling session before bed today, decided to scroll some daggers.
Purchased a few clean Kanzir/NT Daggers

Clean Equips Bought: 7 daggers total; Mix of 103-105 att
Scrolled Used: 25 DFA30 1 DFA 60
Scrolled Passed: 14/25 30s

End result:


Crazy scrolling session, started off with 4 Daggers, 103/104/105/105 att and all 4 30's passed.
Second round of scrolls, the 108 6 slot kanzir went to 113 5 slot, and one of the 110 6 slot went to 115 5 slot, rest boomed.
Third round of scrolls i decided to get 3 more clean daggers, all 104 att, with 2 daggers passing.
Fourth round, i hit the 2 +1 daggers with 30's and both passed, getting us to 10/12 30's passed.
Fifth round of scrolls, 113 att 5 slot fails then booms, 114 kanzir fail > fail > pass > pass then i failed the 60 on the last slot, leaving it at 124 att.
Sixth round of scrolls, i only have the 114 5 slot and 115 5 slot NT daggers, and I decide to slam 30s on both, since the 124 att Kanzir covered the cost of scrolling these daggers.
Both 30's passed, leaving us with the 3 daggers 14/25 30% scrolls passed.

Spending roughly 243m~ to make
Sold the 2 NT Daggers for 650c and the Kanzir for 115c profiting roughly 1.36b

The 2 NT daggers were sold to Nightz and he slammed 30s on both.
The 120 dagger finished at 130att 2 slot, and the 119 att failed all 4 slots but didn't boom.
Overall a very profitable session for both of us

Today was a bit rough, did a lot of scrolling, but ultimately didn't end up with much.
A lot happened so i'm not going to bother going step by step when the videos will show what happened...

This is a reminder that with the good comes the bad, not every day is a win.

Attempted to scroll Red Cravens

Purchased 9 50 att hovering around 5.5m~ ea

Ended up with a 70att RC that i ultimately tried to css3 (it blew up on the 3rd css3)

Still not giving up I went back to a somewhat cheaper item, Red Emerald Earrings

Surely at this point i'm due? I attempted to scroll daggers again

Purchased 9 total daggers, ranging from 103 kanzirs to 106 NT

Ended up with a 126 att 20 luk Speargrave that i sold for 300c
Roughly gained 336m~


Overall for the day I attempted to scroll 45 pieces of gear and ended up with 2 surviving pieces, roughly losing 1.08b~ in total. Saving grace here were the REE ending up net neutral and the Speargrave selling for 300c.
Perhaps my luck is better with daggers and i should quit on bwgs....
Still a crazy day, and i had fun streaming to a friend on discord.
At the end of the day, at least it's not real money... and surely my pity is stacking now

Well it looks like i was right and my pity was stacked.

1 more attempt at Red Craven before bed.

Lowball estimate I probably made a few mill off this, but I won't mark it as a profit until i decide to either sell them or slam another 30 on both...
Definitely hurts that i didn't buy perfect cravens this time around...
not really sure what to do with the 69 & 70 att 3 slots... finish with 60s? slam 30s? or try to sell as is...
UPDATE: received and offer for the 70att craven for 600c so its definitely profit yippee! Roughly a 940m~ profit alone just from 70att selling!!
UPDATE 2: bidder retracted 600c offer but we have a new c/o of 400c, will probably just raw 30 the 69 unless i get a good enough offer

Total Losses: 1.43b~ (adding the cost to make the RC, but not adding what they potentially are worth till sold or boomed)

Any tips or advice is appreciated, right now it's just me and my gut feeling

 

yeah in hindsight it wasn't a smart move financially, probably better to just buy a clean RC after the 2 fails, but i believe everything happens for a reason. If i didn't boom the 50wa/5 slots, then I wouldn't have passed on the ones that did

i don't regularly scroll bwgs, like i said in a previous post, my bread and butter is and always will be int equips. But hey, if people wanna help lower the cost of clean BWGs, i will not complain...

So i boomed the 65 att RC trying to CSS20 (css are a scam), and will most likely sell the 70wa/3 slot RC, and once that sells i'll raw 30 the 69wa/3 slot RC unless i get a decent offer on it as is. Sweatz was telling me that if i were to WS60 the last 3 slots i could make a few hundred coin profit if i hit below 5 ws, but my 60's luck is terrible so i'd really like to avoid that route...

In all honesty, i'd rather raw 30 it again over ws60ing, but i gotta try to lower the losses from 2 posts prior...

I won't lie, at the very beginning i did sell leech to fund myself through hard times. I was fortunate enough to hit an early Chaos Scroll while leveling my first Bishop, which helped me buy leech and some base int gear. Though i quickly stopped selling leech as my main way of making money once i hit around 500m for the first time. I think 500m is a decently large enough pool of funds where you can end up going net neutral or even making a bit of profit usually.
I still leech from time to time, but usually its just when im self leeching a character and someone asks at the map if they can join

A big update

Attempted to make some Yellow Work Gloves

Purchased 8 2 int YWG, and 1 2 int Red Marker

All honesty I probably should've just 60'd the YWG when it was at 1 slot, but no guts no glory. I knew as long as it didn't boom, i was ending up basically even on the session.

Attempting Dragon Kanzirs again

After the daggers, i attempted scrolling some int masks

The footage lacks me scrolling the 12 int mask and finishing the 12 int 2 slots with 100s cause i forgot to record, but once I finished scrolling I had 2 extra Eye Int 30s so I HAD to buy another mask no?
It blew up first 30
So I bought another one and it survived the onslaught of 30% scrolls and ended up 12 int!

Honestly not a bad result, the 2 14 int masks were 12 int 2 slots, but after weighing my options and considering my losses at the moment, i decided to just finish them with 100s to quell the demons on my shoulders...
These will help me recoup my losses a bit more, potentially bringing us back into the green if the 14 int's sell well!
I've sold 12 int mask in the past for around 210-250m, and I'd estimate the 14's could run anywhere from 500-650m

Small non scrolling update:



Seaphome, my 2nd washed bishop has reached level 99! I had originally made this character as a partner to my main character to allow dual mage ninto farming in the future, but more recently i decided to increase my number of mages from 2 -> 4! I estimate with MW10, by around lvl 146 I should have enough TMA to 1 hit nintos with the gear i have available currently. I plan on just trading my main bishop's gear to Seaphome while farming, as my main can 1 hit Nintos with just a wand.

In the mean time, I've also leveled 2 more mages to level 30 (1 washed 1 unwashed), to eventually become bishops as well. Reasoning for having 1 washed and 1 unwashed is simply not having enough NX on my last account. I'm planning on just starting to wash that char once it hits closer to level 100, and even if it takes awhile to reach 30k mp, I don't mind having slightly higher pot costs on 1 out of 4 mages.

My plan for these 2 characters is to have them available for future quad mage farming. I'll be leeching them both to level 120 for the aim of quad maging Homunculus. As they level and get stronger, I plan to move to either ulu1 or Viks into eventual dual channel farming Nintos.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure how much multi mage farming I'll actually be doing. I personally don't mind grinding for extended periods of time, but I've also never done multi client farming in Maplestory before. I'm not entirely sure if I'll even enjoy quad farming, this is just something I wanted to try as a potential way to make meso in the future outside of scrolling, and I think it's always nice to have short term goals.

Currently also waiting to see how the Lunar Event pans out, if it seems like it's profitable, i'll rush Seaphome and the 2 level 30s to 120 asap.
I'll probably be holding of on scrolling much stuff until the event is in full swing and I get a feel of the market.

 

Seaphome, my 2nd washed bishop has reached 120!

Finished my genesis quest and now considering getting htp for in the future. Currently not too worried about gear atm, as I've decided to mainly focus on getting my 4 mages online so I can start trying to multi mage farm. Lunar new year event is in full swing, and I've been farming raffles when I can, usually grinding the hard jq's if they're quick enough or easy enough. Seems like a decent amount of coin/meso can be farmed if you grind the event, so i'll be holding off on scrolling for the most part until my 4 mages are level 120.

Currently they're both sitting at lvl 49, and hopefully with all the practice from the event, i'll be able to finish zak prequest easily...

I'll still be slowly updating this journal, perhaps with farming updates as I attempt quad maging, but right now my future seems to mainly consist of doing JQ/grinding for raffles, while buying leech for my 2 leveling mages.

If people would like to see data during the multimage farming, i'll post the results in this thread

Mb... I said I wouldn't scroll until all 4 characters hit 120, but I instantly caved once Seaphome hit level 120... She's sitting at a solid 122 after a day of skele farming for 88-blessing charms and the 888 kill quests for raffles.

yeah I decided to buy a PGC since the raffle was going on and I had around 400c that I didn't want to sell.

Chaos failed, I ended up blowing this up using a CSS20.

Since I still had 300c in my inventory and could buy another 4 att PGC without going below 1bil, I tried again..

The cape ended up 11 att 2 slot! Progression went +1 +1 +5!!!
Not 100% sure what it's worth, but it's for sale currently as I won't be finishing it...

Spent 400c and around 700m scrolling the Red Craven and the 2 Capes.

oh and my 2 other mages, Kloo and BigBeverage have finished getting their zak helms and are on their way to 120! YIPPEE

Crafted some Kanzirs with some cheap GDKs and some mats I had laying around.

I know I know, I shouldn't have slammed 30s on below average Kanzirs... I was just bored and had mats laying around and I wanted to scroll something...
Anyways all 5 of the kanzirs either boomed or failed the first 2 slots.
Decided to slam a scroll on an 8 luk 108 att NT Dagger i bought for 120m and the first 2 scrolls hit!

Scroll Results:
Pass: 7
Fail: 8
Boom: 4

Not too sure how much i spent, probably around 180m~ for the daggers and the scrolls + crafting fees

The 11att 2 slot pgc from Entry #7 sold for 1180c so we profited around 800m for that session

Total Gains/Losses: +144m~ roughly (masks from Entry #6 have yet to sell, so this doesn't factor them in yet)

My mages have all hit 120! I'm now just waiting for my NL, which will be my sweeper to get enough NX for pet equips.

I've been doing some scrolling, but ngl i've been negligent about recording... please forgive me...
Is it really even necessary anyways?

Finished with a 100% eye int, sold for 900m
