Should we allow level 200 chars to have a small % of gained exp converted to mesos to encourage further play? Exact % to be debated. % may differ between bosses and mobs? Negative/positive effects on economy?

This would be kind of interesting if it were possible to restrict it to Boss exp only. Otherwise it just really benefits degenerate leech sellers.

If you have a lvl 200 character I'm sure you have more than enough means to generate income. I don't see the point of this.

Weekly equipable item gained from NPC for level 200s, tied to a quest, has item levels available. At max level, it transforms into an item you turn in for your reward.

It can be balanced around amount of exp required and reward offered, while being limited weekly. It doesn't need to be as efficient as the going exp:meso rate(3.1:1), but it would be nice to have something so that half of the value of HT doesn't just immediately go down the drain because you're 200.

The point would be to offer an incentive to continue playing characters after they hit 200 instead of just retiring or rerolling and never touching the character again (outside of weekly PB). Post-200 syndrome is a very real thing for many players and its symptoms often include loss of motivation to continue bossing and gearing up and spending all of one's time in-game afking in the FM retirement home after not being able to cope with the turning off of the leveling dopamine tap. Most bossing feels (and objectively is) awful when you're no longer able to at least fall back on the consolation prize that is exp when a run is completely dry. Running HT on a level 200 char, for example, can often feel like charity. I myself am guilty of never touching any of my three previous 200 characters and while this issue may at first just scream "first world problem" to those who may never even hit 200, I think that it will become increasingly relevant as the server ages and may tie into player retention and server longevity. As the server becomes increasingly top-heavy and more and more loyal players hit 200 and influx of new players continues to slow over time, it becomes increasingly important to keep these 200 players/characters in the bossing pool.

While I'm not sure that directly converting some of the exp gained to mesos is the best approach, I very much support its addressment of the lack of incentives of doing regular content on a level 200 character, which is something I've brought up before as well in my 200 challenge suggestion (shameless plug), which also contains some more of my unimportant thoughts on the matter. Similar attempts have been made to tackle this issue by other members as well, such as xiaoyaozxiaoyaoz's 200 ring suggestion.

Let's just say everyone in the server is now lvl 200. What does the extra meso converted from exp even do other than boosting inflation? As of current, I don't see why a lvl 200 should have additional income over a lower level when you already have all the most lucrative content available.

I think the ring suggestion is pretty decent though.

When a player hits 200, they typically undertake one of four options:
    1. Continue trudging on with a ride-or-die mentality for their character(s)
    2. Quit or retire to FM life
    3. Abandon previous main and reroll to new class
    4. Transition from an exp/bossing focus to a meso-earning focus and almost exclusively sell leech or multiclient farm
Ignoring #1, which I think makes for a very small minority of players (I personally only know one level 200 player that still regularly bosses and hasn't rerolled), I'd argue that each of the other outcomes leaves the game slightly worse off in some way. Wouldn't it be better if we could convert more players from the other camps to the first one?

At present, the primary function of a level 200 char for most people is as a PB "mule", with PB being the only truly "lucrative" bossing content out there. Why should a level 200 player have additional income over a lower level player, you ask? So that the level 200 player continues to play with the lower level one. Everyone benefits from this arrangement.

The additional income does not give incentive to play with the lower level player. If anything it gives the incentive to play with other lvl 200s to maximise income. Doubt much benefit will go to lower levels.

Even if that were true, the whole point of this to begin with was to get 200 players to do content and for investing into that character to continue to feel rewarding and meaningful.

Hence i think the ring proposal or simply recording extra exp in the rankings for bragging rights is better. Not this 'make the rich richer' suggestion.

When a level 200 player (or any player, really) actually wants to become rich and get ahead, they sell leech or farm, not boss (and this would likely continue to be true even if such a suggestion were approved). To recontextualize, we're talking about increasing the EV of an already suboptimal way of money-making for an endgame player that no longer benefits from essentially half of the value of bossing. The use of "the rich getting richer" analogy seems a bit inapt for the occasion, especially with the apparent implication of a level 200 player necessarily being wealthy.

All this proposal would do is shift some of the focus from mage shenanigans back to bossing, in addition to reinvigorating interest in bossing or for playing previously dead characters.

From my experience and from seeing other players as well. Majority of the players, including myself, stop caring about exp after level 180. Only a small handful of people actually care enough about level 200 to grind their way there.

In most cases, even HT and PB, dry runs prove to be a waste of time regardless of the exp gained.

Lvl 200 characters are already in a place where they can generate a lot of income. I'd suggest against that. This also doesn't help with the current inflation as well.

We could spice things off and maybe trade a lvl 200 character for 10m meso thou MapleF6

The only problem you described here is that bossing EV is lower than farming EV for everyone, yet this is something that should somehow only be improved for lvl 200 characters?

If this actually about server health, it is more pertinent to be reinvigorating previously dead character who haven't reached 200. Your lvl 200 character have 'completed' the leveling game, whatever bossing you do should be because you enjoy playing the content, compensating 'lost exp' with meso is ridiculous.

lvl 200 players could always make up for the inconvenience by just not leaving party, and take the exp regardless
