Medium Malaysia Theme Park Monsters Bug

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I believe so. As a sin, I will use my basic attack when Vikerola and Gallopera use their ranged magic attack on me while I am attacking instead of throwing stars. It's more clearly seen in the video with vikerola, but the same principle occurs against galloperas and yabber doo. I recorded the event occurring but it doesn't seem like i can upload a video here.
