Resolved (Windows) Unable to execute file

    Problem launching ML at all after installing the new August version (been away for a little bit). Seems that the MapleLegends.exe file just isn't getting installed so there is essentially nothing to execute, hence the error name.

    Add to exclusion list both the folder you installed the game and the MapleLegends.exe itself. That way the files won't get deleted.

    I can't add MapleLegends.exe to the exclusion list if it never existed in the first place.

    Reinstall ML (don't open it) > Open up Windows Security > Add to Exclusions list.

    I tried this, it deletes itself as soon as I reinstall it so there is no opportunity to add it to the exclusion list.

    Exclude the whole folder. You can make a folder and add the entire folder as an exclusion as Nightz stated above. Then install maple to the excluded folder, so as the executable goes into the folder, it can not be deleted because the entire folder is excluded.

    The craziest thing is that my windows real-time protection wasn't even on this entire time so there shouldn't be anything that is deleting my .exe everytime I reinstall. With this said, excluding the folder doesn't do anything 'nor can I even exclude anything because essentially EVERYTHING is allowed through without real-time protection turned on.

    Just do what the other 2 people said and you should be fine...Windows protection is ALWAYS turned on by default. Also if you have an antivirus add the folder to exclusion list there too.

    Bleh, guys how many years have I have said this now: Windows Defender for one says a file is a virus and secondly we are whitelisted by defender. The reason this happens is that he has another different antivirus installed doing the deleting.

    haoerdhaoerd Please go to your add and remove programs and check for a different anti-virus you've got installed you are not aware of. It's the cause of this problem.
