Hall of Fame Maps/Lvl 200 NPC Quest

    With slightly over a dozen level 200s and several people getting closer to 200, I was wondering if the Quest for a level 200 statue/Hall of Fame Maps were going to be activated?

    I remember this being present prior to the release of pirates within the job instructor map itself. With the release of pirates, I think there was a separate map created as a hall of fame map.

    I couldn't find a youtube video with the new hall of fame map added w/ pirates, sorry!

    *A suggestion from the lovely HyugaHyuga was the top 5 of each job (NL, Shad, Hero, DRK, Pally, etc) instead of top 10 or 12 (11 NPCs for AngelWings video) of each class (warrior, mage, thief, archer) to have diversity and balance among jobs, albeit this might not be possible.

    I think so, it takes a long time to get to level 200 and it deserves a little piece of MapleLegends history

    Yeah it was! I believe these npcs/maps were around from 07/08 until regular maplestory raised the level cap to 250...OnionMuha. Great way to archive ML history though and give motivation to non-mage classes to hit 200 too.

    Maybe someday. I personally support it just for the GMS-likeness, but nobody can craft it for now :p

    Since there are already so many level 200 chars, whenever this feature is enabled in legends... this could come with a *cough cough* wipe *cough*

    The chat bubbles could make the map too crowded. I feel like if this feature was ever implemented, it should remove the chat bubbles and perhaps make people stand in a more orderly way.

    A friend of mine who shall remain nameless told me that it doesn't take more than 15 minutes to code this (he tested it on his own private server)... Anyways I agree that this feature would be nice if HyugaHyuga 's suggestion of only being top 5 is implemented. Atm that would mean 5 bishops (Hotguy6pack,Unlucky,Reclaimer,Jaychou and Hernan), 5 NLs (Babo,Nude,Enough,Ghost and STRQNK) and 1 bowmaster (Zeretius which seems ok to me.
    I've been asking for this since I hit 200 almost 2 years ago...

    Agreed, w/o text bubbles would be nice to reduce map spam!

    FrancoFranco, did you mean top 5 of each job class? (thinking HyugaHyuga didn't want only 5 or 10 bishops or 5 or 10 NLs dominating the map haha=p). She can confirm this. But otherwise it was top 10 or 12 for each job (mage, pirate, etc) in old gms.

    Personally it only being top 5 of an overall class wouldn't bother me since I think too many npcs would make it lose the appeal and it wouldn't feel like an achievement as much, I am biased however since both of my characters enter in the top 5 for thief and mage so I can't say I understand how being a level 200 that is left out of this would feel.

    To keep it fully GMS like, it was based on the general class.
    I think 5 is a good number.

    On another note warriors / pirates hella lazy xd.

    if you didn't have the limit the mage npcs would be loaded thanks to the disgusting amount of good leech/mage maps that exist as well as mages just being disgusting overpowered in terms of exp gain

    This is very true. Thus, GMS limited it at 10 per general class for this reason (they played around with in a few times if I remember right).
    10 is a good # so all the NPCS aren't bishops or NLs... and perhaps disabling the chat-bubble for all those but #1 in each general class would be better too.

    Chat bubbles are disabled for all our NPC's. Also, the way it worked in v62 is that each 1st job advancement map (Mage, Warrior, etc) had player NPC's there. Later (around v83) they added a portal in the job advancement map where it leads to a general area, since I guess they saw it clutter too much, etc...

    Anyway, if we ever have player NPC's, it will probably be just the v62 way, and the amount depends how many there were in the map at the time.

    I personally support this idea, not because i'm 200(maybe a little bit). Mainly because I remember in GMS I would go get my 1st job advancement and seeing these player NPC's it would ignite something inside me. It would inspire me to reach this same goal(jk only made it to 45 in v62). But still, that feeling was pretty awesome.
