Can Shadowers boss?

Any class can boss; it's just whether or not you're satisfied by the rate at which you boss.

 

Shadowers excel at bosses where cleaving is required, aka HT. Apart from that they aren't high on the dps chart. One of the good things about shads is that they use very little pots during boss runs due to shadow shifter, meso guard and bstep iframe

 

According to the guide I’m using (https://forum.maplelegends.com/index.php?threads/comprehensive-shadower-guide.4387/), Shadowers are desired in bossing and can do it early on with Meso Explosion(though l heard it can lag other players and cause them to d/c).

 

Boomerang Step is generally more useful than Assassinate since most of our damage comes from cleaving. For single target you should be using a macro with both.

Shads don't do a lot of damage in general though, you need to be geared up quite a bit to even come close to doing the same DPM other attacker classes do.

 

As others have already mentioned, shads are really only good when it comes to cleave. Single target dmg is pretty bad even with assassinate. I measured single target dmg with Bstep+SB vs Bstep+Assassinate lately, as i was levelling up assassinate. Turns out assassinate isn't really worth using unless you got 20+ (forgot exact amount) skillpoints in it. Before that it's just worse than using SB and even at max you won't be gaining much more. So even if you plan on bossing, maxing assassinate shouldn't be a priority imo.
You'll be good dmg at zak arms and HT body (also one of the best sed targets) when you can hit 3-4 parts at a time with Bstep.

The important thing is that groups will welcome you. And, well, people love smoke screen. For one thing, it just makes resing people super easy.

 

Yeah they can boss, the dps isn't the best but it's good enough to be called an attacker, and they have the flashiest skills imo

 

Although our dpm is significantly lesser as compared to most bossers, we are very much wanted in bossing. Hey, we are professional smokers

yes shadowers are wanted at zakum to cleave arms and can use smokescreen both offensively and defensively by providing a #safespace for nibs who died and need revive.
low damage but highly reliable due to low probability of dying (i've done a fitness event while in zakum, played omok during HT, afked ontop of monsters numerous times, for example)
help defeat a boss? sure, but compared to top damage dealers we dish out a smol fraction of what they deal
