I remember 2 years ago when RyanLights told me to go half with him on buying to piece of time market and I didn't. I must say I was wrong not to do so.

 

this the guy who last night literally asked me "can i use piece of time as a currency" headass

Judging the market solely off owlrepo or owls doesnt give the full picture. Usually the prices you see are what they are not selling at

True, however if you're frequently buying a specific item for a project you expense alot of owls over a long period of time. Its not hard to see the trends, it's not like the "people" doing this try to hide it.

I think the solution to all problems is to fill all fm rooms with pot shops with all different types of pots, not only NLC pots! Red potions, pure water, mana elixirs!

As someone who actively farms for Bow 30%'s, Balrog's drop rate is so abysmally small, more-so now with less channels, you'd be insane to try and use that as a farming technique, let alone trying to use it as an arguing point. Peach Farm 1 and 2 are both easily multi-mage or DK roar friendly maps with decent spawn to farm them, but it's exceedingly rare to see anyone there on any channel.

I think you're misunderstanding people's position in this discussion. I personally think gaming the market in such ways is scummy af -- I think most do -- but I think regulation in the market based on half-assed analysis is even more dangerous. How do you set good policies against greed? Nothing really has been suggested here, and I am confident nothing good will ever be suggested that can't be undermined in a matter of seconds.

 

What is stopping you from finding a more efficient use of your time and making more mesos so you can just buy the "inflated" bow 30s?
Buying at inflated prices doesn't really hurt you if you're able to buy more by farming something else than you can farming the specific item you want.

 

PoT costs too much... what can i do...?

They appear to drop from farmable mobs.... perhaps i could collect my own....?

 

So what’s your solution? Just choose a price and people can only ever list items at that price? Who chooses the prices?

Items like Piece of Time have gone for as little as 100k at the peak of multimaging and as much as 5m on PB release. What’s the “correct” price?

Reading this thread I've come to notice how marvelous it is that the virtual world of MapleLegends has managed to perfectly replicate the intricacies of real-worl capitalism. Who would have thought that even in a digital realm, the invisible hand of market forces would prevail, and someone like RyanLights would rise to control and dominate the means of production? Truly, a testament to the accuracy of economic simulations.

Clearly, we're all at the mercy of RyanLights and his virtual capitalist empire, preventing us from working for our own goods and challenging his reign. It's almost as if the game developers carefully engineered this parallel universe to mimic the inequalities and frustrations of our everyday lives.

But honestly though the struggle against RyanLights' monopoly is as imaginary as the virtual goods themselves, we can literally farm our own money and goods by killing monsters.
