Do mages need hog mount?

sometime mount helps to collect items and climb ropes, i dont see as big advantage dependjng on what you usually like to do on your char.
you cant attack while mounted

 

I barely see advantage of using mounts in grinding (fast climbing rope, faster pets but neglectable especially when you use MU+haste mule).
But for HT, mount was my lifesavor as bsp, who needs to do HTJQ a lot for buffing pty and NLs won't keep you hasted.

But regardless of such efficiency features, I just love to swag around with hog/silver mane/red draco, instead of teleporting because they're cute LOL

 

Should take away Haste and give it to Shad and Hero only, then NL will learn to haste bishops properly

 

I'd love to see them just focus on their own tasks, rather than buffing me which can be skippable :rofl:

You cannot attack while on mount.

I mount on Silver Mane on my Bishop quite often since your speed also determines your pets' speed after completing Kenta's quest. This increase in speed (170% on Silver Mane vs 140% on Haste) is quite noticeable and improves my map rotation speed when picking up drops. Not a necessity but I personally enjoy it.

 

Yes you need it for Horntail as Bishop, no for everything else
