While I really understand the sentiment and sympathise with it, there are definitely people out there with worse luck.
The GWGs really aren't necessarily even a case of getting screwed over. If anything, the only relevant metric is total BWGs gained vs total exchanges done. From all the data I've seen on it, the rate has always seemed to be roughly between 1/100 and 1/200. Realistically, the number of GWG doesn't mean anything.

That said, maybe it's time for a breather! Break from the game or switching it up by trying out something like Osslock or NewLeaf. Scrolling fresh equips with 30s might just get you out of the (very understandable) ws10 trauma.

This was after cssing and immediately booming my 128 timeless engaw a few days ago.

The economy and balance in this server directly stabs single client casuals in the head. While some people run multiple clients and slam 30 ws in a row most of us struggle just to get 2.

The game is punishing but I'm also at a point where I think I need a break to actually enjoy the game, because my 128 bow was either going to be 138 or boomed by the end of that day. Trying to ws10 for a 3 w.att upgrade is demoralizing (ws10 bow is 126/5)

Do what you need to do to enjoy the game. Change shit up, take a break, touch grass whatever. Smashing your head against the wall doesn't help when you don't enjoy the pain (kekw)

 

Oh, btw. Again today 12 man no dc both runs, 4 coin split, didn't relog.

It's ok buddy, most people have losses but only the spoonfed ones will share their wins so it helps making you feel like you're the only unlucky person.
What helps me is just expecting failing but still trying nonetheless, but maybe that's just me

First time I heard about you was when you got Ric's Lampion like 2~3 years (?) ago, and since then I always tell people dfrom my guild who's starting and don't wanna be too sweaty that they can make good amount of mesos at Nightghost, that there's a NL that builded perfect gears there.
Don't give up and just ignore people's luck, it's not a competitive game (although I can imagine and understand it's frustrating when you work so much and can't get it)

This is not meant towards OP per say, I just have experience from working with variance as part of my line of work for about 6~years and decided ill share my insight/experience.

The main problem everyone seem to overlook here is a term called Sample Size.

You are not unlucky, you cant even determine if you are lucky/unlucky yet. Wsing (10%), Chaosing for +5 (6%) and BWG (sub 1%). All require a massive sample size (prolly 1000+ WS/Chaos) before you even can determine "luck".

Humans as a species are incredibly bad at estimating and being realistic about percentages. We always tend to lean towards optimism. And there are plenty real life examples where you can take advantage of this.

The most obvious one are Casinos. If you bet 100usd on red at the roulette table, you'll most likely calculate it like a 50/50, but then there's this green thing that gives the casino a 5% edge on every bet you make. You might win over a day, week or month, and 5% might sound like a very low chance. But you know who ALWAYS win in the longrun? Ye you guessed it, the casino owner who puts 5% in his pocket every spin.

I understand it feels bad, there's alot of time and effort spent to get these scrolls. But the reality is you just have a distorted viewpoint on how variance actually work. My suggestion is to go play with a variance calculator and you'll see what a fart in the wind these low sample sizes actually are.

My best advice for this kind of stuff is:

1: Get a realistic viewpoint on how good/bad variance can be on certain sample sizes.
2: Divide your longterm goal in several short term goals instead, or just have more goals in general. Dont just focus on one thing. It wont feel nearly as bad to fail all the chaos/ws when its not the only thing you're playing for.

3: Dont gamble at casinos to try to win period. Casinos should be treated as a fun activity (like spending 200usd on playing paintball a whole day). Only thing beatable in a casino is Poker and Sportsbetting, Blackjack only included if you are Rainman.


This is what a roulette graph looks like for 4people who has 100usd to start with and bets 1usd per spin on red. Even a 5% chance of something can make it differ about 3000 spins/attempts.
