Greetings Everyone!

I'm Daniel, 21 y/o. It's been approximately 5 years since I last played MapleStory, I used to play in Bera on the global version of the game. Confused and discouraged by the Big Bang update, I stumbled upon this private server, which is unique in that it delivers a very similar experience to the original MapleStory in terms of leveling difficulty, drop rates, and the like compared to other servers which seem to be far too easy to play.
I'd like to ask you for some technical assistance in establishing MapleStory on all of my systems.
I own both a Mac laptop and a Linux laptop. As I am currently serving in the military, I don't have access to my Mac laptop most of the time (It's a pricey laptop that I'm reluctant to bring with me to the barracks). I couldn't find a linux installer, yet it's mentioned on the main site of the server that the game can be run on a Linux system.
If anyone can guide me through installing the game on Linux, that would be amazing. I have Xubuntu installed. I tried to install it with the Windows installer under PlayOnLinux, but unfortunately that didn't work.

Latte I tried to to install the game on Xubuntu by following your guide, unfortunately it didn't work for me. The game simply doesn't launch, and when I try to run "wine MapleLegends.exe" I receive the following output:

I'll try to play around with it some more to see if I can get it to work. If I'll find a solution, I'll let you know.

My linux system is a Chromebook running ChromeOS with Crouton installed on it, allowing me to run any desktop environment I want alongside ChromeOS on the same kernel. I chose xfce4 because it's lightweight and easy to handle.
ElementaryOS looks really good, it's greatly influenced by OS X, mimicking some good design choices from it with their own twist to make them their own.
I had Gnome 2 on my old laptop for 5 years, switched to xfce when Gnome 3 came out because I hated it. I like how MATE managed to bring Gnome 2 back from the dead, maybe I'll give it a go myself.

 

Well, still no luck in running the game on my Linux laptop. I've run out of troubleshooting ideas.
I'm still playing the game on my macbook, but since I can't take it with me to the military barracks, I don't get to play as much as I'd like to. I suppose it's okay though as I get dismissed from service in 6 months.

 

I'm still stuck with the same output I started with.
