Cant download/.exe missing

Yes this is a common problem with most private servers on Windows 8/10. You can disable the Windows Defender in your settings, because that very intelligent program keeps thinking that the .exe file is a virus.

 

Could you upload the .exe file? Mine got lost aswell...

 

There's an alternative Google Drive download below the MEGA one. You can try that one if you ever have trouble with MEGA.

MapleLegends.exe

 

Windows Defender quarantined my .exe file this morning. Flagged as mapstosteal!rfn trojan. I assume this is documented, but thought I'd add it just in case. I went into Windows Defender history tab and restored the .exe. I assume this adds an exception, but we'll see.

 

This can indeed happen, your Antivirus or in this case, firewall/windows defender can delete the maplestory .exe file because it sees it as a threat.
Listing it as an Exception will solve this problem.

 

I'm having this problem too, but when it first occurs, it says

" Unable to execute file: c:/MapleLegends/MapleLegends.exe

CreateProcess failed; code 5.
Access is denied."

I don't think any of my computer protectors are responsible. Maple worked for me all last week, but stopped yesterday. I have tried redownloading/ reinstalling it twice, to no avail.

 

Have you tried running MapleLegends as admin?

Please try and run the game (from a fresh install) with the Settings of the .Exe set to: Run as Admin
& compatibility mode: Windows XP SP2

Including making it an exception in your firewall/antivirus ofcourse.

(Right click on your Maplelegends.Exe(or shortcut), then click properties-advanced-run as admin. Compatibility tab: Compatibility mode Win XP SP2)

I tried what you said, and I got until the Run- As Admin part. It wasnt clickable, that whole section was grey. The Compatibility tab wasnt clickable at all, a pop up would come up saying MapleLegends.Exe doesn't exist or something.

I tried making the game go back in time a bit to when I first downloaded it last week. Now I get the same error that I typed out earlier, but saying "Code 2". :/

 

As said before in this thread, please make sure to add 'MapleLegends.exe' as an exception to your anti-viruses. It seems like your anti-viruses are deleting the 'MapleLegends.exe' file, because they think it's a virus. If you add it as exception, they won't do that.

If you use Windows Defender, here is a guide made for this problem: http://forum.maplelegends.com/index...s-defender-microsoft-security-essential.6688/ Same concept for other anti-viruses though.

After you've done that, download this: MapleLegends.exe and put it in your MapleLegends folder. If you don't know how to do that, you can also just run the installer/setup again to re-install the whole game.

Please make sure to have a fresh clean installation of maplelegends and make the .exe an exception in your antivirus before running the game.
