Not a Bug Low Level Dark Sight + Haste

This is how it was in GMS

 

It doesn't cancel the +Jump from haste, thats why

 

I think this happens, because Dark Sight is essentially just a "buff" that does minus speed, so it overrides the speed buff from the Haste. Just like with any other buff.

 

Any way to fix this?

Because simply saying that this is how it is in GMS is garbage.

No. structure of formula in v62 for buff things, can't stack more than 1 for each stats, and changing this requires "too much effort" compared with what we get.
(this problem goes with RAGE problem. like RAGE + watk pots.)

Neckson changed formula for buff post BB, so can be stacked for each stats. but not in v62.

 

If you use ds and someone else uses haste on you that works atleast it did 1,5years ago

 

Buffs/debuffs that affect the same stat don't stack and that's just how Maplestory works. I don't see any good reason to change a core mechanic.

 

Changing the core mechanics and fixing a situation which is seems counter-intuitive, buggy and poorly designed are completely different situations.

The core mechanics might be fixed in place, but there may be workarounds. For instance, when the server recieves a packet that someone has used darksight, check that character to see if they had the haste buff on beforehand, then reapply the haste buff (perhaps minus some levels) depending on the level of darksight.

The goal would be to have a sensible reduction in speed from like 140% to 135% instead of like 140% to 95%.

You can just haste after using darksight, and have the haste buffs while being in dark sight.
