Halloween 2023 - Butler PQ guide

Hi, a few of us in Ocean are degen enough to spam Butler PQ and eventually came up with guides. Sharing is caring so here u go

Butler PQ​

Duration: 7 minutes max
Party size: 4-6 pax

This year's PQ has an additional stage on top of Halloween 2022's Butler PQ.
If you have unlocked Butler PQ back then, you could simply start this. Otherwise you will have to complete the pre-quest.

Stage 1 - Find the right path​

• There are 4 paths to attempt on, and there is only 1 correct path to get to next stage.​
• How to identify the right path:​
  • Get to the top of a path and hit the treasure box.​
  • Once the right path has been identified, there will be a system message indicating that the path is found. Party should then proceed to that path and go to next stage.

Third path - Jump quest (identify the right platform)​

Stage 2 - Obtain mirror piece
​

Spoiler: Guide (Up to date 2024)

• Goal is to press up at each mirror to find the mirror piece.
• Only 1 mirror will give the piece, while the rest will trigger a ghost to appear and attack you. If you get hit you will be teleported back to the center of the map.
• You will get the following prompt and an etc will drop once u found the right mirror
  
• Whoever has the etc can enter the portal in the middle to unlock the next stage.

Spoiler: Tips

• Hold the direction key and do not stop moving.
• For each mirror u pass by, press up only when your character reached the center of the mirror. This allows u to escape the ghost's attack and continue your way to the next mirror.

Stage 3 - Riddle Me This

• Talk to the Butler and choose the first option
• He will give you 4 riddles, each represents a bookshelf.
• Everyone's riddle is different.
• Goal is to click on the correct bookshelves regardless of the sequence.
• However if you clicked on a wrong bookshelf, you will have to redo everything (need to re-click all 4 correct bookshelves)
• Once you got it all correct u will get the following etc:
  
  
• Have the party leader to collect the etc above to complete the stage.
• Once you exit through the fireplace, the PQ is considered complete and you will receive 25 Pumpkin Coins.

Tired of memorising the lengthy riddles and figuring out which bookshelf it is referring to? Here's a visual map and some keywords of the riddle that would hopefully help you to connect and memorise in some ways, regardless of your English proficiency.

The Teleport Pathway (highlighted in green) is the only way for you to move upwards across floors.

EDIT: There is also another pathway (mirroring the upward path, between 3 and 4) that brings you downwards, that or you could simply jump downwards. (Thanks Pasta for highlighting this)

Spoiler: Tips

• Go through the diagram and the list of riddles above prior to the PQ. Once u take your time to read through the sentences, you will find that the riddle makes sense to the image it represents.
• For those who finds it difficult to understand the riddles, you could find 1 word in the sentence to relate to its respective image.
• Do a few test runs and you will eventually recognise which riddle refers to which image of the bookshelf. The diagram above then simply serves as a quick reference to locate the bookshelf.

• Talk to the Butler and choose the first option
• He will give you 4 riddles, each represents a bookshelf.
• Everyone's riddle is different.
• Goal is to click on the bookshelves in the right sequence.
• If you clicked on a wrong bookshelf, you will have to redo the sequence again.
• Once you got it all correct u will get the following etc

Bonus - Ghostbusting​

This stage is where u catch ghosts for rewards!

Spoiler: Guide (Up to date 2024)

Worry not, there is a separate 4 minutes timer from the BPQ timer.

• Collect pouch (use item) from NPC by selecting the 2nd option in the dialogue.
  
  
• To catch a ghost, hit it at least 6 times and use the pouch while standing near it. (Similarly to the hog mount quest)
• Only normal attack will be registered as damage.
• You are free to capture as many ghosts as u wish within the 4 minute timeframe. But keep in mind:
  • Only the first 25 ghost sacks will get u 1 Olivia entry + 1 Raffle
  • Any additional ghosts sacks beyond that, will be 10 Malady Candies for every extra 5 sacks
  • (no, hunting 50 ghost sacks wont get u extra entry and raffle)
• When you're done, exit the map through Butler (or let the time run out). Both ways will bring you to the next map - Rewards.

This stage is only for those who wants to attempt on getting raffle ticket or NX at the Rewards map, otherwise u could simply exit this map through Butler.

• Collect pouch (use item) from NPC by selecting the 2nd option in the dialogue.
• To catch a ghost, hit it at least 6 times and use the pouch while standing near it. (Similarly to the hog mount quest)
• Only normal attack will be registered as damage.
• Capture as many ghosts as you want, and when you're done, exit the map through Butler (or let the time run out). Both ways will bring you to the next map - Rewards.

Rewards

The 2024 reward system is more simplified compared to 2023

• Talk to Butler and select first option
• Butler will basically credit the rewards to u based on the amount u have, with the following rules:
  • Only the first 25 ghost sacks will get u 1 Olivia entry + 1 Raffle
  • Any additional ghosts sacks beyond that, will be 10 Malady Candies for every extra 5 sacks
  • If u have less that 25 ghost sacks, you won't get any reward.

• There will not be any remaining sacks to be carried-forward once exchange is made.
• If you did not manage to hunt 25 ghost sacks, you can skip the exchange and carry forward the sacks for next run.

• Each submission will submit ALL the sacks u have. You can't choose a specific amount to submit.
• You can also choose not to submit any sacks and carry forward to the next round.

aaand thats it. Not gonna lie maybe im the degen one to even consider writing this up but happy to help out whoever out there that find this pq impossible to be done within 10mins 7mins.
