No, the impact is quite noticeable especially on apple/cheese. Previously mages were similar in DPM to the best classes in Nib and PB body. Now they are uncontested, and the highest by a good margin, provided they have equal levels of funding.

And you would understand why if you read my post. The insane scaling from cheese is due to scaling of non base int tma being compounded, with no input from base int. Your lvl 200 mage using cheese will have the same impact as a lvl 150 using cheese. If you don't see that as problematic then...

I understand that, but cheese/apple usage is the standard for PB. Attackers are also on apple as well. It wouldn’t make sense to compare attackers on apple to mages not using consumes.

I'm pretty sure attackers on apples still scale better? Especially comparing lvl 200s.

They do not vs. PB body. Attackers deal 50% damage.

Also mages are the highest DPM in nib even without cheese

Ya but mages were already highest in PB body weren't they? In any case, my thread wasn't discussing specific boss fights, staff can easily tweak boss fights e.g. making more bosses having PB damage reduction property. I'm attacking the deeply flawed new formula in respect to how it works.

No, unless you count inflation to minibeans.

I mean the post you were replying to was asking if mages can do bossing content and you said no. Im just pointing out there’s actually a decent amount of content where mages aren’t just viable, they’re top tier.

So when you say decent amount of content top tier you mean 2?
Or 1.5 if its only body in PB and not the rest of the fight lmao.

I’ve listed the others in the main balance thread I believe but I’ll reiterate here

Best in the game: PB body, Nib
Top pick: Nameless, Dunas 1, Auf
    Better than average: Verga
Mediocre: Core Blaze, Dunas 2, PB statues

Seeing as how nobody runs Toad or BGA, that really just leaves JC, Zak, Krex, CWK and Horntail as fights where mages are low tier picks, and if you really want to nit pick they can still run those fights if you build around them.

I believe DrChuchuDrChuchu sent stats of mid (or even low) lvl/gear mages showing that they didn't get nerfed. It's really only the lvl 120-130 mages with 0 gear that choose to spec into their non-ult skills early.
A few levels and a fairly low threshold of funding gets you beyond the point where the new formula nerfed players.

And i have debunked it as cherry picking. Unless you consider 500tma from gear at lvl 180 as 'fairly low' threshold.

No, I was moreso referring to the unfunded lvl 130 post.

I know. Lvl 130 is the only level where an unfunded mage doesn't get nerfed, hence cherrypicking. There are no more big upgrades for tma after that level.

There don't have to be any big upgrades. With the (unrealistically low) threshold of funding ChuChu picked in his example, there's heaps of affordable upgrades. It's not like a lvl 130 mage with ~100-150m in funding would suddenly stall out after hitting 130. Virtually all your grinding options are profitable and your TMA from gear should logically increase quite rapidly at that point.

You are still misunderstanding. Your breakeven tma increases with your level now. Lvl 130 is now the level with the least amount of tma to breakeven because the new wand is a hugeee upgrade. Back to my question, 500 tma from gear to breakeven at lvl 180, is that affordable to most people? And it is just breaking even, not even buff.

It's amazing, as someone whose first character was an IL mage, im actually motivated to make one now! though its sad all the viable bosses are high level, as a mage it shouldn't be too hard to get to that level, i bet, while making some meso hehehehe. (though i do wish some of the lower lv bosses were also viable since some of my friends made arch mages as their first character and won't be lvl 163 any time soon)

Yes, I do feel like that seems affordable to most people by the time they hit 180. Besides, it's gear + mw20, with mw20 giving a whopping 91 int at lvl 180.
