Raven's weapons

Personally I’d rather see these weapons tuned to fill an archetype, I think it’s cool that they’re hard to acquire but they serve no purpose other than looking cool.

NL doesn’t have any negatives associated with weapon choice other than cost, but for Warrior, weapon speed and DEX requirement are a big deal (Warriors don’t build for DEX, because it’s not required on regular gear)

I know DK is an oddjob at this point, but there are zero SI-less spears in the game. Feels odd to keep flogging a dead horse, when even BW users have Fast(4)

 

Yeah I'd rather see them buffed to be on par with dragon weapons. At least the upgraded raven gear.

 

just keep the stats the same for all raven's weapon.
increase the slot to 8 total slots across all raven's weapon.

 

I was thinking more along the lines of like:

• NR Wing: Increase Attack Speed from 5 -> 4, remove DEX requirement, reduce base Weapon Attack. It won't be a bossing weapon, but it could become a high level farming weapon for stuff you can't 1-hit with Lionheart / Red Katana. Not to mention Lionheart actually has shorter range than standard 2H swords
• NR Eye: Same story. Increase Attack Speed, make STR req match other lv.90 XBows, decrease weapon attack. MMs can finally Pirate Pin without SI
  
• NR Claw: Already in a good state because it's a NL weapon so of course it is
  
• Crimson Arclancer: Increase Attack Speed from 5 -> 4, decrease STR requirement to match Nisrock, decrease weapon attack. Weapon Speed is a big deal when using mobbing skills as BM. This weapon is actually pretty useful even at Fast(5), but that extra STR requirement makes no sense
  
• Crimson Arcglaive: Same story, high DEX requirement yet is still only Fast (5). Maybe it's good for STR Mages or something but it is not a good weapon for STR DKs
  
• Some Kind of Spear: There is no Fast(4) spear in the game. Not only is Crusher naturally slower than Brandish, you also need to drag around SI to farm cleave maps like ML5, unless you're just down to kill like 10% fewer things than a Hero, who is already not killing things that fast.

Basically I wouldn't want Raven items to power creep our equip options, but rather they should enable 'alternative' playstyles

Running around on a single client farming stuff with an attacker was a pretty big part of GMS and the whole character-building fantasy. I think it's a shame our sandbox actively discourages it. The Raven weapons as they are now ask players to commit to a suboptimal stat build just to use a weapon that's still gimped for its primary purpose - attacking faster. I don't see the need for all these negatives, they are already lower DPM.

Mages/Thieves have 0 tradeoffs other than cost when choosing a weapon, and this makes it so that any Warrior/Archer weapon that has "flavor" is actually just bad.

 

I believe that some rework, especially on the wand/staff (I don't remember what it is now), would be cool, on the other weapons too.
