Notice Regarding Agent Equipment

Dear Maplers,

Since the start of MapleLegends in 2015, we've ran many different events. Traditionally, with these events, the exclusive items that were obtained were temporary, with various durations going up to one year. Items that had significant stat boosts would always have a set date for it's expiration, as to not have permanent event items that were too strong.

During the Summer 2017 event, we introduced the Agent questline, which was based on GMS' own 2009 Agent event. We tried to replicate the Cat Meow event, including the boss rush type gameplay, quests and others.

Throughout the questline, players had the opportunity to obtain a temporary version of each item, and eventually get a stronger and permanent version of each items (A reflection of GMS' version). This introduced the Agent Earrings and Agent Shoes, which were multi-statted items that were on par/stronger than the clean best normal items for these slots. Problematic as it was, the event also came with Agent Chaos Scrolls (Originally 100% chance in GMS but dropped to 60% for our version), which blew things out of control.
The Agent Chaos were quite easy to obtain, which lead to very statted items to come out. Even with only 60% chance on the Chaos Scrolls, the potential was there and plenty of people obtained items such as 20+ stats earrings/25+ stats shoes.

After a lot of debating, both within the Staff team and with other players, we've taken the decision to change the expiration date on all Agent equipments from Permanent to ~1 year; expiring around Summer (Date TBD). This is to put them back in line with the other strong Event items released/that will be released on the server. This would also let us possibly bring back the Agent event in the future without worrying about people already having all the final pieces.

We would like to apologize to everyone who has spent time and money on getting these items, and for taking so long to finally make this decision; It's our responsibility to be careful about these sort of implementations, and we've been much more careful since then.

That was obviously a huge part of the problem. You could take GEEs, scroll them for LUK and then Chaos them and possibly make better ones for sure, but the cost is extremely high, and with extremely high risk. If you manage it, then it's fair! Agent items was just low effort and basically zero cost, and the event introduced dozens of them in the market.
