haven't the foggiest idea when i started. a few years certainly though.
2. How did you found/learn (about) MapleLegends?
i tried playing modern Maple Story and when i hit level 70 in a handful of hours i stopped playing as there was no joy to be found in the power that was handed to me with no effort. so i stopped playing there and starting googling "oldschool maplestory" and i found this server. first one i found and only one i have tried. feel like i struck gold.
3. What were your expectations going into playing MapleLegends?
to not reach endgame power levels with little effort put in.
4. What made you continue playing?

5. Do you have any goals that keep you going?
nope. just here and you cant get rid of me.
6. What do you like about MapleLegends (feature, content, etc)?

7. Your least favorite thing about MapleLegends? (feature, content, etc)?
Summon Dragon isnt stackable with Bahamut.

havent been paying attention, but i am still here arnt i.

Old school MapleStory, classic 5 major classes, social & community

The community and friendship made here.
Nostalgia and the content of this game.

5. Do you have any goals that keep you going?

• T10 ring (finished)
• Level 200
• Perfect +7 weapon
• Try different classes

6. What do you like about MapleLegends (feature, content, etc)?

• Friendly community
• No Vote2Win content (except HP washing)
• Free cosmetics
• Low Rate
• HD client, few bugs (no GFX)
• FM button & Permanent merchants
• Contents from many regions (GMS/KMS/CMS/MapleSea...)
• Allow public VPN

7. Your least favourite thing about MapleLegends? (feature, content, etc)?

• HP washing
  • stops new players coming
  • causes class imbalance
• The economy
  • inflation (cs/ws price is doubled in 2024 compared to 2021)
  • small market (not enough items available in the market)

8. Compared to when you joined, do you think the server has improved?

Yes, in many cases. Thanks for all staffs and the community.

9. What would you really like to see added or changed in MapleLegends?

• Buff HP challenge system
  The HP challenge system is a good remedy to HP washing.
  But it's not good enough compared to traditional HP washing (with higher limit & free NX).
  Maybe add a repeatable (but hard) quest to allow players who chose the new system to gain more HP in a slow pace.
• More cleave content at bossing
  Instead of buffing melee classes directly, we could try adding more cleave content in bossing.
  For a 6 men party, make [1 cleave + 4 ranged] > [5 ranged] = [2 cleave + 3 ranged].
  For example, maybe buff HT wing/hand HP while reduce pre-head HP?

Stumbled upon it when I typed "Old Maple Story was better" in my browser.

3. What were your expectations going into playing MapleLegends?

I expected an even older Maple. Without pirates. But this one is good.

4. What made you continue playing?

It's fun.

5. Do you have any goals that keep you going?

I would like to try getting all the jobs to level 200 someday. But I have a life.

6. What do you like about MapleLegends (feature, content, etc)?

The "simple yet satisfying" aspect. Gach tickets from mobs. The community. The moderators. The "frozen in time at the right time" aspect.

7. Your least favourite thing about MapleLegends? (feature, content, etc)?

Washing. I have read about your HP bonuses for unwashed players. It's an improvement, but washing is really OCD. Not my cup of tea.

8. Compared to when you joined, do you think the server has improved?

I just joined this month, so...yes. The server has improved because Munk7 is here!

9. What would you really like to see added or changed in MapleLegends?

A lot, actually. Legends is great, but it retains almost all the critical flaws of oldschool Maple. Such as unbalanced use of AP, unbalanced/useless skills, many useless/waste of time quests, and unbalanced/useless equipment.

My recommended changes include:
1. Adding AP points to HP/MP should give a much larger increase. This would allow 3 possible builds: Unwashed and unboosted direct HP build, unwashed and boosted HP build, and OCD washed build. To each their own. Enjoy your build. Don't rage quit because you built your character wrong and no one accepts you in a party because you didn't have the game's internal mechanics memorized.
2. Each skill should be viable. If I want to max Holy Arrow, it should be a viable build. Do whatever it takes to balance skills. Change damage, st/mt, mp cost, points needed to max, etc. Think outside the box.
3. The extra exp from quests is great, but many of them are still a waste of time. Perhaps make quests more about mesos and rare rewards? Getting random job-specific equips from quests would be great. How about getting random job-specific scrolls from quests too? And gach tickets? Make players WANT to do quests. There needs to be an element of surprise involved. If anything, gach tickets as quest rewards is perfect. Perhaps reduce the rate of gach drops to compensate.
4. Balance equipment types. Why use blunt weapons when swords are objectively better in every way?

Despite my long list of suggested changes, you guys have done a great job with this server. It's really the best Maple server I've seen. I have been reading the forums to get an idea of what kind of drama goes on here, and it's very well ran and drama-free. I like the changes you've made with the game, but I'm also expecting improvement.

I don't feel I am the most qualified person to speak on these matters, but I'll throw my two cents in anyway.

1. Which year did you join MapleLegends?
Originally in 2015 but quit and didn't return until about a month ago

2. How did you found/learn (about) MapleLegends?
Saw it on Gtop originally

3. What were your expectations going into playing MapleLegends?
My first time playing back in 2015, I expected a "reliving of my childhood" like a lot of servers claim. The second time around, more just somewhere I could enjoy playing the game back in v62 without ridiculous rates and of course, grind on a perma-Beginner.

4. What made you continue playing?
Honestly, seeing how MapleLegends has stood the test of time, still being around almost a decade later.

5. Do you have any goals that keep you going?
Yes, mostly grinding my Beginner and wanting to get him to at least 100 without leeching and get my jobbed characters to 4th job, again just grinding it out the old fashioned way. Seeing Monster Cards added, that's a goal to try to get a Tier 10 ring on my Bandit one day (almost up to Tier 2 atm)

6. What do you like about MapleLegends (feature, content, etc)?
The community, events that have good items that expire over time so they don't make normal equips obsolete and probably the low rates as well and how Gachapon is, IMO, added into the game in a way that encourages active play and cannot be exploited by vote abuse. This IMO gives everyone a fair chance to get off the ground, which can be brutal if it's your first character.

7. Your least favourite thing about MapleLegends? (feature, content, etc)?
How "free cosmetics" is a bit misleading. Or rather, I didn't realize that meant "easily obtainable holiday-themed cosmetics" instead of "cosmetics in the Cash Shop are completely free"

8. Compared to when you joined, do you think the server has improved?
Definitely.

9. What would you really like to see added or changed in MapleLegends?
I would say the addition of monster cards for monsters that don't have them yet.
