Pirate PQ

    I'll get right to the point - Pirate (Herb Town) PQ needs a buff. This is probably the case with Orbis PQ as well, but I've never done it so I wouldn't know.
    The final reward of Lord Pirate's hat is fairly good, and you might say that's enough of an incentive or motivation to do it. However, by the fact that very few people on the server have actually gone through the trouble of getting it should be evidence enough that this PQ is not worth the effort.

    Here's a comparison of PPQ with others:

    Ludi PQ:
    -Gives ~75k exp per run
    -Final reward is Broken Glasses, one of the only eye accs in the game
    -Has a secondary reward after every run like scrolls, capes, and earrings so you can make mesos
    -Takes usually 15-25 minutes
    -For lvl 35-50
    -Takes 35 runs for glasses

    LMPQ (even after nerf):
    -Has some decent scroll rewards like oa dex 60, cape dex/int 10%
    -Gives tons and tons of potions so you'll be well stocked and can npc for money
    -Takes 1-3 minutes
    -gives max 20k exp per run
    -For lvl 51-70

    Pirate PQ:
    -Gives a measly 70k exp (or even less, there's a penalty so you get a miserable 56k if you are in a party with people over lvl 70)
    -Takes about 10-15 minutes
    -Has a few "decent" scrolls that can drop from lord pirate, like OA Dex 10% and BW/Axe 60% scrolls
    -Has some issues with a few maps
    -You have to fund yourself with pots, they won't be replenished just by doing the pq, and you likely won't make money unless you get really lucky with lord pirate's drops
    -Gives a final reward of Lord Pirate's hat, a good hat but not end-game and nothing compared to a zhelm
    -For lvl 55-100
    -Takes ONE HUNDRED runs to get the best hat

    Clearly compared to other party quests of the level, PPQ's exp and rewards are not up to snuff...

    A few other problems with PPQ:
    -Lord pirate's key drops fairly rarely, I've done about 10 runs and only 1 key has dropped, meaning making the angry/engraged lord pirate spawn is incredibly difficult. (on the one run i used a key, the server crashed halfway through)
    -The maps "Lord Pirate's servant" seem glitched/broken, 10 seconds in all of the monsters disappear and only 1-2 come back, making it take tons and tons of runs to complete the "eliminating the pirates" quest.


    My ideas to fix:
    -Remove the exp penalty for having people over lvl 70 - this baffles me, why would you even have a penalty? there's no penalty for lvl 50 people in lpq, or lvl 70 people in lmpq.
    -Increase the exp to at least 100k per run to make it more on-par with even the nerfed lmpq and for the levels that this pq is available
    -Make lord pirate's key drop more often
    -Fix the lord pirate's servant maps
    -Make a way to get better scrolls from the pq (maybe from the treasure chests you open with lord pirate's key)
    -Require fewer runs to get the hats - maybe 10-25-50-75 for the # of runs required?

    I second this. The hat is sick and all, but 100 grueling, rewardless PQs aren't really worth style points.

    I agree PPQ needs a buff, but just to clarify Broken Glasses aren't the only eye accessory. There are also two types of Rac Masks.

    +1, when I wanted to do this pq no one bothered because it was not worth the time to people who wanted to level and too boring to some others @Hyuga@Hyuga

    Totally agree. For instance, an exp penalty if you are higher level doesn't make any sense. Nothing else in the game reduces exp (for instance, doing low level quests or killing snails doesn't massively reduce the exp you receive). Monsters will be easier to kill, but then again, so is your exp requirements, which increase exponentially.

    I've also seen the devoted captain and krus... It's clearly broken. What's supposed to happen is every 10 seconds or so, new ones spawn, but after the first wave, very few if any spawn.

    For scroll rewards idk. We'll have to see what other stuff lord pirate drops...

    Also about the broken glasses: raccoon masks are only from gash, and all they add is accuracy. Mages, thieves, and archers don't need accuracy. So raccoon mask and all the eyewear scrolls are completely useless to everyone but warriors. I've yet to see any eyewear int scrolls at all. So yeah, for the most classes, broken glasses are indeed the best in slot.

    You can scroll them for dex, works for pirates, bowmen, warriors and thiefs.

    You can also scroll them for INT, so they work for every class.

    AFAIK that shouldn't happen, because the idea of those 'parts' of the PQ is to make it take longer. Should be reported as a bug.

    PPQ will never be worth doing unless you significantly increase the exp. The reward is completely not worth aiming for, since the only Pirate Hat out of that PQ that could be considered somewhat viable is the one with +5 AS. Nobody with a functioning brain would waste their time for 100 runs of that ridiculous PQ to get a hat that's very close to be outclasses by many other hats anyways.

    Well in order to beat glasses, you need to succeed on at least 2 of those dark scrolls. Maybe that number should technically be 3 due to stat requirements on weapons. Either way it's not good chances. :p

    Point is that for most classes, the broken glasses from LPQ are still best in slot unless you get very lucky from scrolling... and LPQ is lower level and imo a bit easier and 'only' takes 35 runs to get glasses.

    Actually, regardless the Broken Glasses are still superior. The Raccoon Mask is just a viable alternative. The only exception is perhaps Bowmen/Gunslingers, as their primary stat is DEX.

    I never PPQ'd, just because I didn't see any point.

    Increasing XP reward from PPQ would make it more viable for people 55-100 imo. Also removing the nerf when someone 70+ is there.

    A +5 all stat hat is pretty good imo, it has decent defence and gives you spd/jump/mp/hp.

    Removed the EXP nerf for higher levels (bye bye best GMS feature). Default exp is 70k per run at the moment. Also doubled the Lord Pirate Key drop rate. The spawn in the Kru/Captain map was by design. The mobs have a 10 second timer where you need to kill them otherwise they die and don't count for your quest. Will look into it to see if there are bugs though.
