    Introduction
I'm going to start this guide as a guide to getting gear in MapleLegends. This first draft will be very rough and not include anywhere near all the information when finalized. I invite others to help post additional information or corrections, and I'll bring it into the guide.

Wondering what gear you should be seeking out, whether it's for INT gearing, mid game, or end game? This thread is for you! First, a bit of background knowledge about gear.

    Gear Randomization
The way gear stats are randomized is based on the gear's base stats. It is either +/- 10% rounded up, or +/- 5, whichever is lower. What this generally results in is that weapons can have +/- 5 weapon attack, and gear can have +/- 1 or 2 stat points. Here are some examples.

[IMG]Horned Tail Necklace, +7 all stats
10% of 7 is 0.7, rounded up is 1. That's lower than 5, so it has a randomization of +/- 1. It can have as low stats as +6 all stats (7 - 1) and as high stats as +8 all stats (7 + 1).

[IMG] Zakum Helmet, +15 all stats
10% of 15 is 1.5, rounded up is 2. That's lower than 5, so it has a randomization of +/- 2. It can have as low stats as +13 all stats (15 - 2) and as high stats as +17 all stats (15 + 2).

    Sky Ski, 94 weapon attack.
10% of 94 is 9.4, rounded up is 10. That's higher than 5, so it has a randomization of +/- 5. It can have as low stats as 89 weapon attack (94 - 5) and as high stats as 99 weapon attack (94 + 5).

    Dark Scrolls
Dark Scrolls are extremely useful scrolls for improving your gear. They work the same as normal scrolls, but with a higher chance of succeeding, a the cost of having a 50% chance to explode your gear upon failure. 30% Dark Scrolls act the same as 10% Scrolls, and 70% Dark Scrolls act the same as 60% Scrolls. They are all obtained through Mushroom Shrine Gachapon. With the 50% chance of explosion, the outcomes are as follows:
    30% Scroll
    • 30% chance of success
    • 35% chance of failure, but gear remains
    • 35% chance of failure and gear is exploded
    70% Scroll
    • 70% chance of success
    • 15% chance of failure, but gear remains
    • 15% chance of failure and gear is exploded
    INT Gearing
The reason to equip INT gear is because of HP Washing. In order to HP wash, you need a higher base MP. For every 10 INT your character has, you will gain +1 more MP each level up. Thus, people invest in INT gear even for non-mages to help them wash. For this guide, just look at the Magician gear section for the INT gear.

    Magician
    Hat
Level 10: [IMG] Green Bandana, 10 slots. Best because of its potential INT with 10 slots. Dropped by Leprechaun.
Level 10: [IMG] Black Bandana, +1 INT, 7 slots. Decent because it already has INT when clean. Dropped by Tippo Blue, Ginseng Jar.
Level 20: Purple Old Wisconsin, +2 INT, 7 slots (hidden street is wrong about its stats). Decent because it already has INT when clean. Obtained through Gachapon (Mushroom Shrine).
Level 50: [IMG] Zakum Helmet, +15 All stats, 10 slots. The best helmet in the game. Dropped by Zakum 3.

    Scrolls
    Forehead
    Irrelevant - Nothing for Magicians.
    Eye
Level 35: [IMG] Raccoon Mask, 7 slots. Highest potential when scrolled for INT. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 45: [IMG] White Raccoon Mask, 7 slots. Highest potential when scrolled for INT. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 45: [IMG] Broken Glasses, +1 All stats, 3 slots. Obtained by doing Ludibrium PQ 35 times.

    Scrolls
    Earring
Level 15: [IMG] Single Earring, [IMG] Amethyst Earring, 5 slots. The lowest level earring that can be obtained. Bought from Sam in Henesys Weapon Store.
Level 25: [IMG] Fallen Leaf Earrings, 1 magic attack, 5 slots. Dropped by Firebrand.
Level 30: [IMG] Red Emerald Earrings, +2 INT, 5 slots. Obtained through Gachapon (Mushroom Shrine).
Level 80: [IMG] Gold Emerald Earrings, +5 INT, 5 slots. The best earrings in the game. Dropped by Female Boss (Anego) and The Boss (Grandpa).

    Scrolls
    Cape
Level 25: [IMG] Old Raggedy Cape, +10 Avoidability, 5 slots. Given by the quest, Mystery of Niora Hospital.
Level 50: [IMG] Yellow Adventurer Cape, 8 slots. The best cape for INT due to its number of slots. Obtained through Gachapon (Mushroom Shrine).
Level 50: [IMG] Purple Adventurer Cape, 7 magic attack, 5 slots. The best cape for magicians. Obtained through Gachapon (Mushroom Shrine).
Level 65: [IMG] Yellow Gaia Cape, 8 slots. The same thing as Yellow Adventurer Cape but higher level requirement. Obtained through Gachapon (Mushroom Shrine).
Level 65: [IMG] Purple Gaia Cape, 6 magic attack, 5 slots. For some reason has one less magic attack than the Purple Adventurer Cape, making it second best cape for magicians. Obtained through Gachapon.

    Scrolls
    Overall
Level 20: [IMG] [IMG] Bathrobe, +10 Speed, 10 slots. The best overall for INT scrolling due to being the lowest level common overall. Bought from Momoyo in Showa. They are gender specific and a different colour, but the stats are identical.

Otherwise, you can just use the highest stat overall you can equip.

    Scrolls
    Top
    Irrelevant - Nothing for Magicians.
    Bottom
    Irrelevant - Nothing for Magicians.
    Pendant
Level 50: [IMG] Silver Deputy Star, +5 all stats, +100 HP/MP, 3 slots. The best tradeable pendant in the game. Given by the quest, Bounty Hunter.
Level 120: [IMG] Horned Tail Necklace, +7 all stats, 3 slots. The best pendant in the game. Dropped by Horntail. Can be "egged" using [IMG] Nine Spirit's Egg (which becomes [IMG] Dragon Stone) to give an additional +15 all stats.

    Scrolls
    Weapon
Level 8: [IMG] Wooden Wand, 23 magic attack, 7 slots. Awesome because it's common, so it can be used for INT gear. Bought from Flora the Fairy in Ellinia.
Level 25: [IMG] Light Purple Umbrella, 39 magic attack, 7 slots.
Level 30: [IMG] Green Paint Brush, 45 magic attack, 7 slots. Bought from Shinta in Showa.
Level 40: [IMG] Yellow Umbrella, 52 magic attack, 7 slots. Dropped by Lunar Pixie, Trucker, Clang, Death Teddy.
Level 43: [IMG] Nocturnal Staff, 58 magic attack, 7 slots. Given by the quest, Cleaning up the Streets.
Level 48: Diao Chan Sword, +1 INT, 60 magic attack, 7 slots. Awesome because it's common, so it can be used for INT gear. Dropped by Cloud Fox.
Level 54: [IMG] Heart Staff, +2 INT, 68 magic attack, 7 slots. Awesome because it's common, so it can be used for INT gear. (hidden-street is wrong saying it is for Magicians only) However, it requires 43 LUK, so realistically it could only be used by Thieves. Actually a wand even though it's called Staff. Obtained through Gachapon in New Leaf City.
Level 70: [IMG] Black Umbrella, 85 magic attack, 7 slots.
Level 70: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] Elemental Wands, +1 INT or +1 LUK, 85 magic attack, 7 slots. The different versions represent different elemental boosts. 1 is Fire, 2 is Poison, 3 is Ice, 4 is Lightning. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 75: [IMG] Kebob, 90 magic attack, 7 slots. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 130: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] Elemental Wands, +2 INT or +2 LUK, 145 magic attack, 7 slots. The different versions represent different elemental boosts. 5 is Fire, 6 is Poison, 7 is Ice, 8 is Lightning. Obtained through Gachapon.

    Scrolls
    Shield
Level 5: [IMG] Stolen Fence, 7 slots. The best shield in the game for INT gearing due to being common. Bought from Natasha in Lith Harbor.
Level 22: [IMG] Mystic Shield, +1 INT, 7 slots. Requires some LUK, but has INT. Dropped by Chronos.
Level 33: [IMG] Esther Shield, +1 INT, 7 slots. Requires some LUK, but is the best shield in the game for Magicians. Dropped by Platoon Chronos.

    Scrolls
    Gloves
Level 10: [IMG] Work Gloves, 5 slots. Synthesized by JM from tha Streetz in Kerning City for 15 [IMG] Leathers and 1,000 mesos. Great for being common and easy to make many.
Level 10: [IMG] Yellow Work Gloves, +1 INT, 5 slots. Good because they have INT and are common. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 10: [IMG] Brown Work Gloves, 7 slots. The best glove in the game due to its increased slots. Obtained through Gachapon. Can also be obtained through Showa Exchange Quest.

    Scrolls
    Shoes
Level 30: [IMG] Squishy Shoes, +1 All stats, 5 slots. The earliest shoe with INT on it, and it's common. Dropped by King Slime and awarded for doing Kerning PQ 20 times.
Level 50: [IMG] Yellow Snowshoes, +3 DEX, +2 INT, 7 slots. The best shoe for INT in the game, and it's common. Dropped by Female Boss (Anego).

    Scrolls

    Warrior
    Hat
Level 10: [IMG] Green Bandana, 10 slots. Technically the best potential helmet until obtaining a Zakum Helmet due to having 10 slots. Dropped by Leprechaun.
Level 10: [IMG] Brown Bandana, +5 accuracy, 7 slots. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 10: [IMG] Blue Bandana, +1 STR, 7 slots. Dropped by Skeledog.
Level 25: [IMG] Blue Bamboo Hat, +3 STR, 7 slots. A reward given randomly from Kerning PQ.
Level 25: [IMG] Green Bamboo Hat, +3 DEX, 7 slots. A reward given randomly from Kerning PQ.
Anything with the highest stats you can find.
Level 50: [IMG] Zakum Helmet, +15 All stats, 10 slots. The best helmet in the game. Dropped by Zakum 3.

    Scrolls
    Forehead
Level 10: [IMG] Sad Mask, +10 accuracy, 7 slots.
Anything else you can find. Anything is good due to being able to scroll Face Accessories for DEX.

    Scrolls
    Eye
Level 35: [IMG] Raccoon Mask, 7 slots. Highest potential when scrolled for DEX. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 45: [IMG] White Raccoon Mask, 7 slots. Highest potential when scrolled for DEX. Obtained through Gachapon.

    Scrolls
    Cape
Level 25: [IMG] Old Raggedy Cape, +10 Avoidability, 5 slots. Given by the quest, Mystery of Niora Hospital.
Level 50: [IMG] Pink Adventurer Cape, 2 weapon attack, 5 slots. Obtained through Gachapon.
Level 65: [IMG] Pink Gaia Cape, 3 weapon attack, 5 slots. The best cape in the game. Obtained through Gachapon.
Anything else you can find. Anything is good due to being able to scroll Capes for DEX.

    Scrolls
    Overall
Level 20: [IMG] [IMG]Bathrobe, +10 Speed, 10 slots. Bought from Momoyo in Showa. They are gender specific and a different colour, but the stats are identical.
The highest stat overall you can find.
Level 80: Battle Overalls (check stats), 10 slots. Dropped by ?.
Overalls are great because they can be scrolled for STR or DEX, and the scrolls can give +5 to the stat (unlike the top/bottom scrolls which only give +3).

    Scrolls
    Top
Level 100: Blue Neos (M), +6 STR, +2 DEX, 7 slots. The best equipment to wear in the game (better than any overall if the top and bottom are scrolled well enough). Dropped by Skelosaurus.
    Level 100: Female?
The highest stat top you can find.

    Scrolls
    Bottom
    Level 100: Male
    Level 100: Female
The highest stat bottom you can find.

    Scrolls

    Scrolls
    Weapon
    Dark Knight
    Spears
This actually can be somewhat complicated which spear is the best one to use. For the end game, check my guide detailing which spear you should use. That said, here are the three best spears in the game, all of which are best at different periods of your ability.
Fishing Pole, fast speed. The best at the true end game, when you have godly gear and using an Onyx Apple.
Sky Ski, normal speed. The best from midgame forward whenever you are using an Onyx Apple.
Dragon Faltizan, slow speed. The best unless you use an Onyx Apple.
For the most part while grinding, you may actually prefer polearms, especially in 3rd job, for the superior mobbing ability.

Hey guys, going to request some help for a few specific classes that I am not knowledgeable about.
    • Paladins
    • Heroes
    • Night Lords
    • Shadowers

Can anyone shed some light on these classes, specifically with regards to what weapons they should use? For the warriors, it's a matter of weapon speeds/attack, and the different types of weapons (swords, axes and blunt weapons). For Night Lords, it's a question of at what point(s) does DEXless stop being the superior build. For Shadowers, it again comes down to weapon speeds, but also whether STR is worth it or not. Bonus points if you use maths to prove your conclusions on all of them! Any help is much appreciated, otherwise I will have to research/guess more on my own.

Other classes I will fill in myself as I am comfortable with them, it's just a matter of getting the time to do so (real life is kinda time consuming).

Wow I never saw this thread before. Anyways,

Don't know how GMS decided their gear stat ranges, but in Legends all stats are randomised either +/- 10% rounded up, or +/- 5, whichever is higher. (At least this is what I interpreted based on a comment by Navi)

For most stats on armor since they are single digit, that means their range are +/- 1.

And I believe GMS used a somewhat similar system too, where stats are adjusted roughly based on the value. For example, the basic Sword has a +/- 2 range according to bbb.hs, while other higher levelled weapons are +/- 5.

Yeah, @Bulba@Bulba I've heard the same from a dev on another private server, but to be honest I think that's just incorrect. I'll happily adjust if someone can show me contradictory evidence, but from all my time playing GMS and other private servers, that IS the pattern from what I can tell.

bbb.hidden-street.net is totally unreliable for gear stats.

It might be +/- 10%, or +/- 5, whichever is lower. But it's definitely not whichever is higher.

Well hard to find proof now that v62 is long gone. bbb.hs and mapletip both roughly agree with each other; Garnier has 8~12 range on bbb.hs and 9~12 range on mapletip.

Also from personal experience I have never seen a 5 or 15 wa clean garnier or any +/- 5 stat low level weapon.

In that case, the lower of the two may be correct. Claws are going to be the test subject that can determine if that's true or not. Everything else that you care about is going to have more than 45 weapon attack...

But still, Legends has a different formula so you might wanna edit that at least. It's hard to prove that <8 or >12 WA Garniers exist, you'd have to keep hunting to show that you never drop in a large sample, and the only place you can do that is GMS right now.

But in the end you're right, the only weapons that matters usually have +/- 5 attack, in Legends that would be those with average WA of 45 and above.

Yeah, I think you're right actually, but it's just that it's the lower of the two, not higher. Everyone always says it's the higher of the two for some reason which is why I dismissed it. The lower of the two makes sense and fits with the stats on gear I've found.

Oh you mean lower of the two between 10% and +/- 5? Yeah if it were higher we would be seeing +10 wa dragon weapons or so, and that would mean stuff like 7 int YWG or 8 WA PGC is possible.

It would seem that GMS capped their weapon WA range at 5 too.

    Exactly. Or +20 Zakum Helmets.

Either way, I'm now fairly certain that's it. Glad I learned it correctly finally. Thanks for the correction. :)

    Those are the respective highest and lowest possible stats. The average is 97. 97 - 5 = 92. 97 + 5 = 102. :)

    Ignore the following posts.

[IMG] Sky Ski, 94 weapon attack.

    [IMG] 30% Scroll
    • 30% chance of success
    • 35% chance of failure, but gear remains
    • 35% chance of failure and gear is exploded
    [IMG] 70% Scroll
    • 70% chance of success
    • 15% chance of failure, but gear remains
    • 15% chance of failure and gear is exploded

    INT Gearing
The reason to equip INT gear is because of HP Washing. In order to HP wash, you need a higher base MP. For every 10 INT your character has, you will gain +1 more MP each level up. Thus, people invest in INT gear even for non-mages to help them wash. For this guide, just look at the Magician gear section for the INT gear.

Great post, but it would be awesome if you put something like ((LUKLESS)) next to gears for mage that don't require luk.

I don't see it as necessary because I don't go into LUK Mage gear. It's pointless when LUK builds are inferior. I presume the type of person interested in gearing is the type of person who wants to get good damage, ergo they will be LUKless already.

    Thanks though. :)
