The Pirate PQ is a mostly worthless PQ, as it's difficult, doesn't provide very good EXP, and the rewards are lackluster. The only thing that might be worth it is the hat before we can regularly kill Zakum, but the default number of PQ's to get the hat are ridiculously high. From this thread: http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/495210/1/Pirate_PQ__PPQ__Guide.html

    It is:
x50 PPQs level 60 pirate hat will be gained
x150 PPQs level 70 pirate hat will be gained
x300 PPQs level 80 pirate hat will be gained
x500 PPQs level 90 pirate hat will be gained

    For reference:
    level 60 hat - +2 all stat ( str luk int dex ) , +30 hp/mp , +45 def , +3 speed , +1 jump
    level 70 hat - +3 all stat ( str luk int dex ) , +40 hp/mp , +60 def , +4 speed , +1 jump
    level 80 hat - +3 all stat ( str luk int dex ) , +60 hp/mp , +70 def , +5 speed , +2 jump
    level 90 hat - +5 all stat ( str luk int dex ) , +90 hp/mp , +90 def , +7 speed , +4 jump

My recommendation would be to cut the required PQ's into 1/10th of those requirements. In other words, it would become:
x5 PPQs level 60 pirate hat will be gained
x15 PPQs level 70 pirate hat will be gained
x30 PPQs level 80 pirate hat will be gained
x50 PPQs level 90 pirate hat will be gained

This would make the PQ actually worth doing for the helmet it gives. Otherwise, this will remain a dead PQ forever. Once Zakum helmets become regularly available, it's unlikely anyone will still do this PQ either.

I would say 1/5, 1/10 is too easy.

I originally thought 1/5 actually, but doing 100 PPQs still sounded hellish, so I decided on a bit more extreme with 1/10. I may be a bit biased for disliking this PQ. :p
Still, 500 is just way too much and I think everyone would agree on that.

Hmm the only reason I can think of for the high amount of PQ required to get the final hat is that they didn't intend for many people to get past the first tier reward. Maybe they originally only wanted to reward the +2 hat to people who did it 30 times (sounds similar to LPQ). But since the level range is from 55-100, and just in case someone bothered to do PPQ all the way from 55-100, they added more reward tiers for fun so those people wouldn't leave empty handed at the end. So the main reward of the PQ is only the +2 hat but if you really wanted a better hat you could work a lot harder for it.

That said, 500 PQs is extremely high, so lowering that is reasonable, but I wouldn't go as low as you mentioned.

According to bbb.hs the reward tiers were 30/80/200/350. Still kinda high IMO, so if any reduction was planned I would recommend simply 50/75/100/125 or so. OR 30/60/90/120 if following bbb.hs' starting point.

Surprisingly, I support this. Not as low as you said, but revitalizing a somewhat irrelevant PQ wouldn't really have a downside.

Currently considering something like 10, 20, 35, 50 for the rewards. Pirate PQ is also being worked on right now

Most players already walk around with a +5 all stats hat anyway. 50 PPQs is still an impressive amount; I don't see how a level 90 pirate hat is too much of a reward for that.

For reference, an average Ludi PQ takes 20-30 minutes. An average Pirate PQ only takes like 5-10 minutes. The problem is Pirate PQ actually has a hard DPS check, and you can fail it if the party isn't strong enough/not everyone is trying.

Hmm, but just like in LPQ if you go with a party of 35-40s it'll take a while to kill everything + the boss. If you have a decent party at PPQ, wouldn't you say PPQ would be easier than LPQ, since you said it only takes 5-10 minutes, and there's no annoying guess-the-combination stages.

Yeah it will depend on the party combination certainly. Level 80+ players will have no problem I think, but 70s and below you can actually time out in that stage. It's the only actually hard stage to clear. You will fail a lot faster than an entire LPQ takes for sure, but failing is totally wasted time.

Pirate PQ should be complete now. There is a super minor animation that will be fixed on the next restart in one of the optional maps for the quest, but everything else should be good to go. Reward checkpoints were set at 25/50/75/100, after some consideration since it was a bit surprising how quickly the PQs went. If you consider the fact that Ludi reward was 35, and the PQ took around 30-45 minutes complete, you could pretty consistently finish 3-4 PPQs within the same timeframe with a decent party. I'd rather have it a bit harder to get to start out with anyways and move it down later rather than the reverse. Anyways, moved to accepted.

EDIT: there is a party still inside check that triggers after clearing even if nobody is in the PQ, which will be fixed on next restart.
