3.6BILLION+ PRIZE POOL JUMP QUEST EVENT (WOW)

I'll release my time at some point midway through the event. I'd rather have people competing among themselves at the beginning instead of setting the end-goal from the start. You'll see other people's times tomorrow.

I thought about the show vs hide times dilemma for a while and tried to come up with a compromise. I don't want too much meta-gaming around the rankings because of the deadline, but I also want to give people some idea of what a decent run looks like.

1st - 3rd place : Times always hidden, but will still be ranked by your IGN (Provides coverage from last-minute snipers and the disadvantage of other people knowing exactly what time to aim for)
5th place and under: Times revealed starting today (provides a guiding light for people to climb while not completely compromising the top ranks)
4th place and under: Times revealed starting Week 2 (I might cut the total event duration down to 3 weeks because it seems too long in retrospect)

The last week(or couple of days?) of the event: ALL times AND rankings hidden to keep everyone in suspense, results revealed in a hype video?

Let me know if any of this seems appropriate/cool/stupid. For right now, I'll put up the current rankings by IGN only.

 

We're up to 13 submissions already. I've been hearing that the Forest of Patience is getting a bit crowded. Imagine if I moved the deadline to 1 week from now?

Sounds fun, but the actual change to the deadline is to June 21st because the pace of entries is higher than expected.

Interesting idea, but from what I've seen so far, the top rankers are self-motivated enough that it's not an issue.

I'll keep this in mind, but if I follow the plan of hiding all times + ranks during the last stretch of the event, then there's no real need for this rule.
