    MapleLegends Community Event
    Design a Weapon Cover!

    Thursday, September 12th - Thursday, October 10th (23:59:59 Server Time)

    Calling all creatives! A new Community Event is upon us! Our Staff is holding a Weapon Design Contest, where we are asking our player base to flex their creative muscles and design a unique weapon cover to be implemented in MapleLegends!​

    How to Enter:
    1. Review the Rules and Requirements before submitting your design.
    2. Design a Weapon Cover to be used as a Cash Cover over any weapon in MapleLegends using the parameters explained in the Rules and Requirements.
    3. Submit your design in the comments using the format listed below.
    4. Make sure you submit your designs before Thursday, October 10th (23:59:59 Server Time), as that is when the Community Event will conclude.

    Rules and Requirements:
    • Weapon designs must be drawn as pixel art, in order to be eligible.
      • Collaborating with other designers for ideas or sketches is allowed. Your entry must include the concept sketch, in addition to the finished product.
        • Community members from other MapleStory servers are allowed to participate.
        • Each participant can submit only one entry. Collaborants' IGNs must be included in the submission.
      • Editing details of your own entry is allowed, but the overall design idea cannot be changed once submitted.
    • You may take inspiration from existing game assets, but the final product must be clearly custom-made.
      • Using copyrighted designs (eg. characters from other videogames) is prohibited.
    • The weapon drawing must represent the 1-handed standing pose, and must fit a square up to 100x100 pixels in size.
      • It can fit in any orientation. However, the design cannot occupy too much space on screen (resulting obnoxious to other players). A good balance between height and width is appreciated.
    • A weapon effect can be included, and will be applied to all the eligible frames.
      • If an effect is included, the participant must provide a sample of the jump animation, that will be used as reference for all the other frames by us.
      • The jump animation can be an image up to 200x200 pixels.
      • The player can choose whether to provide a pixel art version of it (that will thus be implemented with little to no alterations), or a regular drawing/sketch (that will thus be adapted by us).
      • As a reminder, players will be able to hide the weapon effect via the appropriate Legends.ini setting.
    • Staff will declare the event winners; the winning designs will be implemented in game at a later date, and the winning participants will receive a special prize.
    • Staff reserves the right to alter details of the chosen entry as deemed fit, in order to properly blend with the overall game design.
    • Additionally, Staff reserves the right to implement additional submitted designs that did not win the contest.

    Tip: Should you want to explore existing game designs in detail, or try your hand at designing specific poses that you'd like included in the final design (which however will not contribute to Staff voting - they are only for your own submission needs!), this MapleStory Simulator is a great tool to try.

    Entry Format and Example:
    IGN(s): Pasta

    Weapon Name: Totally a Custom Weapon
    Weapon Description: This weapon clearly never existed before.
