Beginner Consolidated skill tips and tricks

    Just an aggregate of tips and tricks to enjoy MapleLegends skills a little more! Learn fun things about other classes~

    I don't play all classes so please add more tips to the thread and I'll update the main post.

    I'll attach videos/gifs/pretty pictures later SlimeGrin

    Beginner/All classes
    • Maple Warrior: quick casting
      • Use while on a rope
    • Skills with cooldowns: ability to see cooldowns real time
      • Place skill on Quick Slot
      • Use macro with just the skill for preferred key
    • Breaking multiple boxes next to each other: double attack QUICKLY using Tamed Monster
      • Hold down + Mount + Unmount + attack + attack (have to do it fast!)
    • Using Macros for buffs efficiently: group buff macros by duration
    • Chair glitch: walk around with chair attached to you (only other clients can see)
      • Place preferred chair on a key
      • Sit on chair
      • Left + Left + chair + chair (quickly!! works with Right as well)
    • Using ground skills to reposition while attacking
      • Hold Left/Right + Jump + skill (simultaneously)
    Dark Knight
    • Final Attack: looks cool but don't do it
    • Minimizing Dragon Roar pot drain: using Hyper Body (HB) and buff cancels to use Roar 3 times per honster (only works with <30k base hp)
      • Attach Right Click to a keyboard button (Google it!)
      • Place mouse on far top right of client (where the latest buff is)
      • Use HB
      • Use Roar till your HP is just below or above your max base HP
      • Debuff HB (through keyboard button)
      • Roar more
      • Use honster and repeat!
    Paladin
    • Final Attack: looks cool but don't do it
    • Threaten the clouds: take reduced damage from Nibergen clouds
      • Use Threaten on clouds under Nibergen
    • Max Improving MP Recovery to use Hero's Will after getting 1/1'd
    Hero
    • Final Attack: looks cool but don't do it
    • Max Improving MP Recovery to use Hero's Will after getting 1/1'd
    • Use Shout on mobs when training with a buccaneer to stun mobs and improve EPM
    Arch Mage (F/P)
    • Spell Booster: quick casting
      • Use on a rope
    • Elquines macro: put Elquines last in a macro of buffs because it cannot be used on a rope
    • Fire Explosion: fast casting
      • Use a faster wand/weapon (Fire Explosion is the only magic skill that changes cast duration based on weapon speed)
    • Telecasting works on all magic skills except Meteor Shower
    Arch Mage (I/L)
    • Spell Booster: quick casting
      • Use on a rope
    • Ifrit macro: put Ifrit last in a macro of buffs because it cannot be used on a rope
    • Telecasting works on all magic skills except Blizzard
    Bishop
    • Holy Symbol: quick casting
      • Use on a rope
    • Bahamut macro: put Bahamut last in a macro of buffs because it cannot be used on a rope
    • Telecasting works on all magic skills except Genesis
    • Heal is stronger against monsters the fewer targets there are
    • Killing monsters that are holy strong/immune
      • Use Doom to turn them into snails (removes elemental resistance)
    Bowmaster
    • AFK Hurricane: use Hurricane without holding the button
      • Hold Hurricane button then Alt+Tab (Hurricane will continue to shoot)*
    • Summons cannot be used while on a rope
    • Power Knock-Back works to push Poisoned Stone Bug in Ellin Party Quest (EPQ)
    Marksman
    • Summons cannot be used while on a rope
    • Power Knock-Back works to push Poisoned Stone Bug in Ellin Party Quest (EPQ)
    Night Lord
    • Shadow Star Bug: idk how this works tbh (teach pls)
    • Get a foot pedal and link to Triple Throw to boss without paying attention f3
    Shadower
    • Use different macros based on how many targets attacked
      • 1 monster: Dark Sight (DS) + Assassinate (AS)
      • 2 monsters: DS + AS + Boomerang Step (BS)
      • 3+ monsters: BS + Band of Thieves (BoT)
    • Meso Explosion (ME) effectiveness: the larger the meso bag, the lower damage/meso ratio becomes
      • Most people use 3000~5000 meso bags for reasonable damage with reasonable damage/meso ratio
    Corsair
    • Extra Gaviota damage: Gaviota has no cast time so it can be used between skills
      • Use Gaviota between Battleship Cannon casts to bump up DPM slightly
    • Macro Recoil Shot + Wings together to travel far fast
      • (OPTIONAL) Dash + direction + jump
      • Face opposite direction (while in air if optional used) and use macro repeatedly
    • Macro Ice Splitter + Flamethrower to attack mobs faster
    • Macro Octopus + Battleship + Battleship to cast faster
    • Macro Aerial Strike + Battleship + Battleship to cast faster
    Buccaneer
    • Barrel Cancel to decrease Barrage combo cast times
      • Barrage + Barrel macro
      • Attack (to break Barrel)
      • Dragon Strike
    • Use different macros based on how many targets attacked
      • 1 target: Barrage + Double Uppercut/Barrage + Dragon Strike (Barrel Cancel)/Barrage + Energy Drain x2/Barrage + Flash Fist x2/Barrage + Energy Orb/Demolition
      • 2 targets: Barrage + Dragon Strike (Barrel Cancel)/Barrage + Energy Orb/Demolition
      • 3+ targets: Dragon Strike + Sommersault Kick/Dragon Strike/Energy Blast/Snatch
    • Stunning mobs:
      • For some reason, some mobs (not all) get stunned after using certain skills like Demolition (e.g. Strong Stone Goblins spawned during Ravana); great to complement with Stun Mastery
    • Speed Infusion (SI) bug: when a party member is already using Booster and you override with SI, the SI will disappear before full duration ends
      • Ask party member not to use booster or debuff booster before receiving SI

    Shadow Star: Keep your highest attack star first and throw a single star after recharging. Maintain Shadow Star at all times while attacking. If your star count is <200 but > 0, then you'll keep that star's attack stat while recasts of Shadow Star will use the next set of stars. If your star count is > 6, a Triple Throw with Shadow Partner will show your highest attack star thrown. If your star count is < 6, then you'll see the next star set thrown. Can't reorganize USE inventory with Shadow Star on.

    Futurecasting: On skills with cooldowns you can queue up the next cast with a skill macro so long as you put no more inputs in.

    Say you put in a macro for Snipe/Heaven's Hammer/Bird Genesis and tag it to alt. You can go alt to cast then alt-tab to a different client and the skill will be used once the skill's cooldown is over automatically.

    Monster de-agro timer from attack to loss of interest is 3 minutes

    ...Someone should do a 5 channel meme f/p FoT mist using this. Drag mobs to one side into single poison cloud, have them primed by single cloud, second rotation murder. For time efficiency flip-flop back and forth, with the first channel dragging to the end and f/p traveling there, and second channel dragging to the start to faster poison, and back and forth. Once primed f/p re-enters and attacker kills all of the mobs, beginning again but with attackers reversing directions.

    Probably best done with 2+ bishops and 3 of anything capable of dragging quickly.

    I haven't seen anyone doing this other than friends I've told them about.

    For Hero/Paladin/Dragon Knight with MAX stance, during zakum
    No need to rush to avoid 1-1/stuns. Stand on the platform on the image shown below, or just closer to the body in general.

    Green for Hero/Paladin, Blue for DK (im not sure about DK, I didn't test right side)

    When you see the 1-1 or stun animation, just duck (press down) to body zak and obtain i-frame. Gone are the days rushing into zak unless you are too far away after buffing your allies

    The blue side works. If you line up where you stand to where the stun pillar falls, you can avoid touch damage from the main body while attacking and duck to dodge stuns (you definitely need 30 Stance, and it's more recommended with higher Achilles to not chew through so many potions).

    Ah I never knew the priests doom skill altered the mobs resistances, cool.

    For poison mist and smokescreen you can place them higher if you cast the skill after jumping or falling down immediately when you hit the ground. The skills lag behind you a bit which you can also use when telecasting.

    When using meso explosion always try to spam the skill uninterrupted. Especially when maxed skill level it takes a while for every bag to explode and spamming the skill allows you to use some of the bags twice.

    Oldest mobs on the field are targeted first by multi-hit skills, for when there are more mobs than the multi-hit is able to target. It's pretty noticeable at CDs with group hugs, the Greatest Oldies tend to die off first rather than the newly created Latest Hits.

    iframe upon getting hit is 1500 ms. You have a free 1.5 seconds upon hit to freely do whatever, climb rope, pot, walk through Bigfoot. "Miss" also gives you the iframes.

    Haven't tried it personally but the principle of it should function with all classes that need to have feet planted to cast skills.

    To add: jump casting is the only way to efficiently clear 1-hit Skele/Nest of a Dead Dragon.

    Here's another quick tip:
    Take out your pet before you open your equipment inventory, and your pet will have your last auto hp/mp potion selections pre-selected. If you open equipment inventory before you take out your pet, they will be empty.

    If you are doing HT prequest and want to farm marrows/skins ASAP, have another char or two get the quest and put them in the same party and map. It'll drop much faster.

    If you are an AM that needs to kill elemental Thanathos for summon quest, you don't necessarily need the opposing AM class. You can get someone who is the same AM class as you, provided they already have points added into their summon skill.
