Hey guys, I just started MapleLegends about a month or two now. I'm a level 61 Assassin, and I never knew anything about HP Washing until just now. when I hear that in order to basically do any of the Endgame content without getting destroyed, I should at least HP Wash a little bit. I really don't want to restart my character since i've invested so much time already, so I decided It'd probably be best to do some late washing and just boss with Hyper body.

I wanted to ask if anybody can help me make sure I'm planning everything right, and if anybody could help verify my calculations and explain a bit about the actual Washing process.

    My Current Base Stats:
    STR 7
    INT 6
    DEX 25
    LUK 281
    HP: 1795
    MP:1073

I've tried following the guides for late washing here, and came up with this calculation:
    1073 Total MP No Equips
    - 1002 Minimum MP At Lv 61
    = 71 Additional MP

    155 - (lv 61 + 10) = 84 Washing Levels

    684 - 71 Add.MP = 613 Required MP

    613 Required MP / 84 Washing Levels = 7 Int per level

Int Stat after all Equips: 47 INT

    7 INT per level - 47 Total INT = 40 Additional Int

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I interpret this is that I'm supposed to be putting all of my fresh level up AP into INT for 8 more levels until I have 40 base INT, on top of my 41 int from equips.

Do I save my fresh AP starting from level 69 all the way until 155 to invest in HP, and Swap out my MP and Base INT for my main stats with AP Resets?

If so, I'm assuming I need enough NX for a total of 124 AP resets (84 for the "washing levels?" + the 40 INT i had to invest? I'm also unsure what a "washing level" means exactly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

it's late at night for me so apologies if numbers are wrong/not optimized/arbitrary variables
    upload_2021-8-19_3-36-53.png
    assumptions:
    1. whatever your hp/mp and stats are at 61
    2. 40 int from equips
    3. add only int until base int reaches 160
    4. add only mp from lv80-160 -- might need to use additional ap resets to go -mp + int (again, not optimized)

at 155 w/o any washes to hp you should have 3863 hp 9231 mp (convert mp to hp later)
3878.25 should be excess mp given 11k hp @ 155
should use about 977-978 ap resets

Thanks so much for the explanation, I think I'm starting to understand now.

So, say I bought some more INT equipment. Do I still need to add int until base is 160, or do I subtract any extra INT i get from equips from this number to adjust for what I need? (Ex: 60 INT from equips, add only int until base int reaches 140?)

nah, mp washing is based entirely on your base int/10, rounded down
your int equips only add to total int (only affects your mp when leveling up)

one thing to note is the more base int you have, the more efficient double washing becomes

Ahhh okay, so that base INT is for gaining more MP per AP during step 4, and having more INT equips can just give you more gains overall after level up. I never quite understood the MP washing aspect but hopefully thats correct or at least close.

Were the calculations you came up with there for an end goal of 11k HP before hyper body? I'd like to wash as much as possible and as optimally as possible, but nearly 1,000 AP resets would have me daily voting for almost two years before I could actually finish from the looks of it. Since this is my main/only character I'm interested in playing, I'm unsure if i could go that hard without completely halting my character progression along the way. I haven't played Maple in over a decade and never made it past level 70, so I really don't know how long it even takes to get to level 155 so maybe it's not as bad as it sounds. Basically, as long as I can survive Zak, HT, and other endgame bosses/PQ after Hyper Body I'll be okay with that. Is there a middle ground somewhere for it to not be so expensive, or is that just how it's gonna be if i'm deciding to wash?

Thanks again for all the help and info!

do you have an hp/mp goal for 155? I think 11.5k hp or so is what's required to survive pb with hb

this might be a bit better, 2931 mp at 120 should be like an average of 1103 extra mp (enough for 92 washes so you can fresh wash hp for 19 levels before you start double washing at 120) although you'll still use 900 total ap resets. you'll end up with slightly more hp on average than the image above though since i didn't include fresh washes. note that your char is def playable before then though, so don't worry too much about the sum of ap resets

    edited for more clarity:
    1. pump all 5 points from level up from lv61 until you reach 160 base int
    2. assumption of 40 int from gear (you'll totally end up with more than this)
    3. after you reach 160 base int, put the next 92 fresh ap into hp (you'll get 18 avg hp fresh vs 16 hp stale)
    4. 120-155 all fresh ap into mp & wash out at some later date.

edit: uh disregard the 913.25 number i think i didn't take into account the 92 ap into hp but otherwise everything else should hold, sum = ~900 ap resets

Starting anytime before level 100 generally allows for enough time to wash enough to do all content, so you're still quite safe. The advice here looks good so I'd stick to it.

One problem you might find is that you run out of NX too quickly from washing. It's kinda tough like that, the only real solution is to keep waiting or else create an LPQ mule for slow gains. Power is slow to come with night lords, especially for ones with proper AP distributions for futureproofing. At least in the meantime there are plenty of classes to explore.
