Pink Bean Bowmasters and left bird DR

    I'm sharing this not that I think it's a new tech, but more so because I haven't personally seen many/if any Bowmasters practicing this technique in Pink Bean. Hopefully some players can find use of this.

    During statues Bowmasters often will focus on left man since we're able to maintain high dpm without risk of dying to DR, this is often the standard practice even in 18 man runs.

    However when left man dies early due to poor left bird DR's, or during Ariel cancel many BM's will go to right man and/or strafe the bird to avoid dying to damage reflect. Moving to right man risks early dispel within the run which poses a risk to any mages/mules and lost dpm due to rebuffing the attackers. It doesn't take much right man dpm to trigger dispel, 1-2 strong BM's are able to trigger it prematurely from what I've seen

    I've been able to reproduce and test over several runs now reacting to animation with hurricane on left bird, in the position shown. I'm very close to bow-whacking the bird in terms of distance.

    I can't remember if it was a Leetoratto or Skarmory tech to reduce our arrows "air time" to increase frames of reaction time but taking that information into left bird was valuable.

    The only real instructional is during repositioning be very careful of a sneaky DR, this seems to be the most dangerous part of this strategy, as your eyes may not be glued on the chest awaiting animation. Stay as close as possible to the bird and keep your eyes focused on animation, this still isn't a free ride for BM's. Besides from that with some practice it's very doable and repeatable without deaths to DR. Do what you wish with this information

    very interesting, does "airtime" affect other ranged classes too, or just hurricane? This does seem the most beneficial to BM since hurricane is so fast

    Any class that has airborne projectiles have a delay where the projectile hasnt reached its target. Its just more relevant for BM/Non boating corsairs since our reaction window is so small.

    You can see exp and things the moment you cast any attack (except FP explosion), the reality is the game doesn't wait for your attack to travel and hit. It applies to other ranged classes, but is most useful to react to DR 1s for BM and rapid fire corsairs instead of watching for glowy statue animation

    You're saying arrow flight time is not a factor? I' curious what is in that case, I've never been able to survive dr attacking from the floor even with the fastest reaction times

    you stay as close as possible to have more reaction time.

    i'd rather stay under left man and mount for iframes

    I've never found this to be safe or optimal with how small of an area you have to stand when left man is alive. Everytime I've attempted it the reaction window has been too small to react. Maybe its a ping issue but I'm NA so that may just be psi

    I'd disagree. I think it's better to look for animations. 1s come many frames after initial animation. After doing a quick vod review it seems like for both left bird statues and body, the first 1 damage line comes exactly 20 frames after the first frame of DR animation.

    The damage lines appearing when hit was a change made many years ago for projectiles and damage lines to feel more natural. Before, you'd see hurricane lines before the arrow hit the target.

    Reroll to a class with shifter so you can actually have an ounce of QoL

    Flight time is only a factor in displaying the 1 damage lines. You will take damage as soon as the damage part of DR is active and as soon as your attack is casted. Like ovv said, you're better off reading the animation. Never played BM into DR, but I didn't take damage to the first one I tested so I believe it's reactable.
