Display a message when someone used high att pots like Onyx Apple

Make it show amount of apples/heart stoppers/cakes in the !dpm test results kekw

 

I think this would be cool so people don't get frustrated when someone does a lot more damage (and uses Apple hidden)

Mehhhh I don’t necessarily think that would do anything than make the chat more spammed. For example, zakum I like to read the chat to see if I am sealed or loss of exp etc.

Do people use apples that frequently in Zak? They last 10 minutes, there's no reason people should be using them often enough that it floods chat outside of Pink Bean.

 

expeditions are opt in but the runs that don't enforce will likely slowly die by selection so there's in effect no choice involved

I think that would be fine if you could toggle it off. It would be another feature people could choose to have. Not totally against it but making it optional can make more peeps happy :>

I think they meant that the messages showing up in your client could be toggleable, but the hosts of runs would probably enable it for their client so that they could check apple usage. For regular runners who may not want to see the messages the client would have it off by default.

I disagree unless it is a toggle. Sometimes I apple discreetly and I would be less comfortable during bossing if everyone knew when I chose to apple at all times. I can see how it would be useful in stuff like PB where appling is expected, or in circumstances where a run is scuffed due to DCs. But I prefer having privacy if it is a choice between having no message at all or having a message always sent.

 

I think this greatly benefits hosts at the expense of runners, possibly also greatly depending on the exact social situation.

I would much prefer expedition-based opt-in (rather than per client) for my kind of content, where apple skimping is almost never an issue. There's a further problem with that where the expedition leader is frequently not the host's character, which is manageable (albeit tediously) in content like HT, inconvenient for content like CWK, and unavoidable for content like PB.

For runs which do care, dpm skimping is a bigger deal anyway, as pointed out by fartsy. At that point, you're just dpm checking every runner - it doesn't matter whether their dpm comes from gear or self-funded apples, as long as they're over your imaginary bar.

 

The only reason I'd be against this is because I'd prefer it to be implemented more elegantly. A chat system would be an immediate solution, but I'd hope for something better.
Personally, I think it's irritating that people want to hide their pot consumption. Skimpers deserve to be shamed, and this would be a step in the right direction to enforcing policies.
