Information The new 'GFX-DC' topic

1) macOS Sierra
2) DC happens randomly and at anytime during the boss run, i've noticed that if there are alot of things going on at the same time then my chance of DC-ing is higher too. client does not crash, but it brings me to the login page and tells me that i cannot connect to the server
3) Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Sorry if this topic is meant for windows users only, not very sure so im just giving it a shot.

 

-Your operation system: Windows 10 Home
-How do you dc?: Client just completely crashes with no warning at Zakum.
-Which graphics card do you use? EVGA GTX 1070 FTW (Nvidia GPU)

 

1) Mac OS X Yosemite
2) similar to the peeps above. either my client brings me to login page + tells me i can't connect to server, or completely crashes with no warning/pop-up. happens quite often at zak
3) Intel Iris 1536 MB

 

Operating System - Windows 10 Pro- Build 16299
Way(s) I DC - Not including getting disconnected due to my potato internet:

• Client just randomly closes during bossing
• HP starts flickering, GUI gets messed up (example below), cannot type, frames starts dropping to ~10 fps, and crash.

Current GPU - GTX 1070

I really don't think gfx settings would be an issue because I can comfortably handle up to 6 clients open at a time.
In addition, crashes like this only happened to be during boss runs so far.

P.S. I'm using Lily 's ML client and have seen this happen both with and without using one.

 

Just checked on both clients and seems like I did not have compatibility mode enabled from the start.
but Luscious just said she fixed the issue by checking it off. I'm not sure...

 

Just checking at a non-windowed default client, it seems like you are right. I probably checked off compatibility mode at one point for some reason.
However, I don't think I ever used the normal client to open legends so I can still confirm that my client crashed even with compatibility mode unchecked.

 

- Windows 10
- My screen just turns black as if i logout but instead of going to the login page, the whole client close. No box pop up to tell me what is wrong or why did i DC. Tried lowered the graphics, still happening. Scarlion / Zakum / Horntail will have like a 10% chance to DC.
- Nvidia GTX 1070

-OS: Windows 10 Pro
-How do you d/c?: Typically the client just freezes or goes black, then closes. Sometimes I get error messages, sometimes I don't. I've never had weird pixels, windows not showing up/some parts being invisible, boss looking strange, etc. The client process just ends randomly without any signs of graphics failure. This also only happens at HT and zakum; I don't d/c (due to graphics) at other bosses or while playing regularly.
-Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 (my laptop has an NVIDIA NVS 5200M and I also d/c on it, same was as described above)

Side note:
Is there info out there about why Maplestory crashes so much due to graphic issues? Not generic explanations, but from a thoroughly detailed standpoint? Like why raster lines get rendered the way they due before the crashing occurs, why that causes the client to crash, etc. I'm guessing it's related to object transformations being calculated too rapidly or incorrectly because Neckson code, the client can't interpret the results causing the weird pixel RGB values, unhandled exceptions in the client, things like that. Would love to know if someone can explain.

I'll try that bossing tonight, so far no lag with it. (I also have had the insta-crash dc described above).

had the same issue, insta crashed with no error messages. Compatibilty mode unchecked. still get hp flickers but after i gfx its fine. Just the instant dc issue..
