People used to play dexless all the time, atleast if they were funded. Dexless isn't really something that was that rare back in the day. Now as for up washing, that was only done by the elite indeed and I agree that it probably wasn't part of the experience for most of the playerbase.
As for joining bosses as an unwashed NL, you won't have many opportunities sadly. HT won't be possible till 198 and zak will take a while for you to be able to survive without requiring hb.

You have some really good points overall, but I strongly disagree with orbis exchange quest becoming "a thing" on this server. It took me roughly 26,000 orbis exchange ETCs just to get from level 10 to 26 - and in retrospect, I could have easily HPQ'd to 21 and save quite a bit of time with the orbis exchange. Because it only gives 1k per go on this server, it sucks. You are 100% better off HPQing in this server. The only reason I decided to go ahead and try out that route was that I was already grinding coolie zombies on my cleric & I was planning on making a sin with 120 base int, which meant I wouldn't add ANY base luk until lv 27 or so.

 

You have a point. Something I overestimated then. My apologies.

 

Played on a server which had droppable leaves which could be traded in for resets.

Got to 30k hp on nighlord in a little over a month.

Staff found this system to be horrible but the damage was done, leading to a wipe.

Take your time to think about this as this can have a big impact on the economy, and overall gameplay.

 

I wholeheartedly agree with this.

I do strive for efficiency in class builds (let's be honest, we all like seeing big damage).
But I absolutely hate leeching, HP washing and mule accounts.

Leeching because it's soulless. It kills the social/partying aspect of the game. Teamwork and everyone participating in combat is fun. You know, the entire point of MMORPGs?
Hanging on a rope while a magician is spamming the same AoE attack for hours is not fun. You're both bored. You both just want to get it over with. You want EXP and he wants his money. I understand friends or guild leeching, but leeching as a service (buying or selling) is such a buzz kill.

HP washing because it's a dumb, broken, unintended mechanic that should have never existed. Bowmen and Thieves are expected to HP wash, and those that do not are treated like second class players.

Mules baffle me. People are willing to spend so much time on a character just to use 1 specific skill as a buff slave to his main character. Waste of an IGN, and it also creates confusion as to who is who. I loathe mules with beginner clothes just sitting in FM with green chalkboards advertising their shop.

I respect the people that play the game normally.

it is what it is, just gotta accept it and play, sure some will dislike it and some will like it, but what matters most is we have this server to play on, without it we will be playing minesweeper .
