Hi! I posted this in the Discord but I thought it would be useful to have this here in the forum as well. I was having the issue with the screen freezing after clicking on "Select Character" (M1 Mac, Big Sur, using Crossover). All the methods that were listed in the original post didn't help me at all (reinstalling/duplicating the bottle, selecting from "View All Characters," etc...). I found out that selecting the character by pressing the Enter key allowed me to get in without freezing permanently. I hope this could help someone!

 

Oh wow, so far this worked 3/3 times today. Sometimes I had to try ~20 times before finally being able to get past character selection. Thanks for the tip, hope this keeps working!

Just downloaded and the game is running fine as far as I can tell. However, my fans are as loud as a jet. Currently on the newest base intel macbook pro 13 inch before m1. CPU is running at 200%. Any tips on easing that or is it fine running it like this?

 

So this worked.. But is this the only solution? To always have to run a command through the win98 bottle in order to run the game? My trial just ended and this is a bit of a pain for running multiple accounts. Perhaps its worth just spending the 40 bucks on crossover :thinking:?

experiencing problems with crossover on m1 mac again! it says bottle expired and going through the steps doesn't help. i think the issue is that even after editing system.reg and saving it, after attempting to run the game nullifies those changes. i've been playing maplelegends fine up until a couple of hours ago.

ok! i just tried this and i was able to get over my bottle expiration issue. though i do wonder why that bottle expiration issue was happening in the first place

 

I changed the system.reg Installtime and Nagtime with the one it is said in "Bottle expired". It still tells me it expired. And even though i saved the Install/Nagtimes every time i reopen system.reg nagtime (only) changed back .

What to do?

hi! crossover works really well with my 2020 macbook pro!

im trying to add korean into my bottle but i'm having some trouble at step 7.



i tried clicking pick installer file but not sure what to pick after that XD

please help computer gods

 

Just tried installing, but getting the error of "There is no windows program configured to open this type of file"

I have a Mac M1 as well - I wish I was not having so many issues. Pressing "tab" or "enter" key does not really work in my case. I feel like the game works by chance. Sometimes I am able to load it through, but most of the time, the game freezes just right before I enter in game.

 

Maybe I will try that ..

 

Hello! I'm having a little trouble getting the game to open? It jumps in the task bar but won't open.

Describe the error: It jumps in the task bar but won't open. I saw in #support in the discord that it may not be possible to get it to run, so no pressure! It's fine if it doesn't work, I'd just like to play again

I do! I deactivated it for this, including turning off my firewall to be safe

I also redownloaded and reinstalled and I just did again using a mirror to be sure but still no luck.
