    Hello,

I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux Mint. I really like the cleanliness, lack of telemetry collection, etc. But I've been having a lot of trouble with installing packages and software due to my lack of knowledge. I would assume that this is one such case.

I've followed a guide for installing ML on Linux via Wine:
    https://forum.maplelegends.com/index.php?threads/installing-ml-on-linux-guide-updated.41984/

I believe I did everything properly from copying the code to install the 32-bit Wine, placing the DLLs in the right folder and replacing the files as stated in the guide. However, when I follow the last code:
    Code:
    $ cd /home/<username>/MapleLegends/MapleLegends && wine ./MapleLegends.exe
This is what the terminal says:
    upload_2023-12-30_17-29-5.png

From there I just assumed that the terminal language changed or something, and looked up the internet for syntax.
    upload_2023-12-30_17-30-39.png

This command did nothing either. I've looked in the internet for around 3 hours by now, but I cannot figure it out. If there are any Linux gods out there, I would appreciate the help. Any information would be appreciated, even basic advice (since I'm completely new to Linux). Just want to play maple again T.T

(P.S. Here is my computer info below in case you need it.)

(P.P.S. I'm not sure if ML Staffs supports Linux so I didn't put it in Technical Support part of the forums. Please let me know if I am wrong about this.)

I'm not a Linux expert by any means, but did you miss the cd command? I believe that moves the directory into the folder and without that you can't find maplelegends.exe, assuming you installed it in desktop/ML/ML/

    Thank you for your reply!
I initially tried cd and it didn't work so I assumed that it was because I started my terminal off the desktop or something... but after you mentioned it, I gave it another try at it and something else happened. ML didn't open, but it looks like something seems to work... Here is the message.

I'm a bit hopeful because it says something like virtual setup, which sounds like it's related to wine. But I still have no idea.

If I can't figure it out I'll try to uninstall and reinstall wine and redownload ML.

Try running on lower resolution, set in the ini file.

    Thanks for the reply kiwiz!
Unfortunately I tried every resolution but none of them work.

At this point, though, I may have tinkered with it too much without knowing the consequences. I'll try again with a fresh install tomorrow!

Technically, there’s nothing to install for ML, since all the files are already structured after the extraction. So more likely it’s the wine settings you will have to toy around with.

You need to specify in the command that you're using 32-bit WINE and the WINE prefix. For example: sh -c "cd /home/jon/Games/MapleLegends/drive_c/MapleLegends/ ; WINEPREFIX=/home/jon/Games/MapleLegends WINEARCH=win32 wine /home/jon/Games/MapleLegends/drive_c/MapleLegends/MapleLegends.exe"
